ll Ter <br /> Volunteers of Americas <br /> Western Washington <br /> November 21,2011 <br /> MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN: VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA WESTERN <br /> WASHINGTON AMERICORPS VISTA PROGRAM AND THE CARL GIPSON SENIOR CENTER <br /> OF EVERETT <br /> This agreement is entered into by and between Volunteers of America Western Washington; a private non- <br /> profit agency located at 2802 Broadway, Everett WA 98201 and the Carl Gipson Senior Center of Everett. This <br /> agreement is to be signed annually as a recommitment to the Volunteers of America AmeriCorps VISTA <br /> Program and the respective site. <br /> For the purpose of this agreement the Carl Gipson Senior Center of Everett contact person shall be: <br /> Deborah Wright,Executive Administrator Neighborhoods & Community Services <br /> 425-257-7080 City of Everett <br /> DWright@ci.everett.wa.us 2930 Wetmore Avenue, 9E <br /> • <br /> Everett,WA 9820 - <br /> THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> I. OVERVIEW OF PURPOSE AND SERVICE AREA <br /> This Memorandum of Agreement is entered into as a partnership to maximize the delivery of services <br /> under the sponsorship of lead agency Volunteers of America Western Washington. The Carl Gipson <br /> Senior Center of Everett may be,but not necessarily limited to,completing the VISTA Assignment <br /> Description(VAD) activities on an annual basis, and ultimately the goals listed in the final year of the <br /> three-year partnership. <br /> The goal for the Volunteers of America AmeriCorps VISTA Program is to build the capacity of anti- <br /> poverty.programs serving local residents and to increase the nonprofit leadership skills of its <br /> AmeriCorps VISTA members. The service area shall be all of Snohomish County. <br /> II. RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> Volunteers of America Western Washington AmeriCorps VISTA Program shall: <br /> • Assist the Carl Gipson Senior Center of Everett to recruit,train and support a qualified <br /> person to be the AmeriCorps VISTA member for 40 hours per week for one year. <br /> • Provide technical assistance with completion of required federal reports. <br /> • Maintain the sufficient support staff and VISTA Leader to be available to assist and provide <br /> guidance to the Carl Gipson Senior Center of Everett VISTA project as needed. <br /> • Uphold our contract and liaison with the Corporation for National and Community Service <br /> to fulfill all requirements of the VISTA Sponsor Agency,which include submitting <br /> quarterly progress reports, entering and exiting VISTA members, and holding quarterly <br /> direct service events. <br /> • Conduct monthly professional development trainings to develop the non-profit leadership <br /> skills of VISTA members. <br /> • Provide overall VISTA Project supervision, facilitation and coordination. <br /> • Other tasks as service needs may dictate. <br /> • 42 <br />
