Dawson Place coordinates the services, performs forensic child interviews, owns and manages the facility, <br /> coordinates fund development, and conducts community outreach. <br /> Dawson Place Clientele: Target Population <br /> Dawson Place is a child-friendly facility that coordinates intervention services and treatment of child victims of <br /> sexual and physical abuse, as well as their non-offending family members. Each year we serve over 1,100 <br /> sexually and/or physically abused children birth to18 years of age from Snohomish County. Sixty-seven percent <br /> of our victims (67%) are under 12 years of age; over seventy percent(70%) are female. Many of our clients <br /> have also experienced drug endangerment, are victims of neglect, and/or witnesses to violence. All of Dawson <br /> Place's services are available to developmentally disabled youth or adults. <br /> How and when the service will be provided <br /> Our intervention services include victim advocacy, legal advocacy, forensic medical exams, forensic child <br /> interviews, child protective services, mental health assessments/ongoing therapy/counseling, law enforcement <br /> case investigation, and prosecution services including crime victim advocacy. <br /> Victims access our services through a call to 911, a call to Providence 24/7 crisis line, a call to Compass <br /> Health's 24/7 Crisis line for mental health services, a CPS report, by calling into our main phone line, by <br /> walking in through our doors, or by a referral from an outside agency. DPCAC's normal hours of operation are <br /> Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, with after-hours reception until 6:30 pm. Access to services is 24/7 <br /> through our crisis line, 911, and CPS reports. Dawson Place is available 24 hours per day, seven days a week <br /> when needed. <br /> All services are available under one roof in downtown Everett at 1509 California Street. Once a family makes <br /> contact with one of our partner agencies, they are offered child/family advocate services, and then are referred <br /> to every applicable service available on site. <br /> Services are also provided in other facilities including courtrooms, schools, hospital emergency rooms, other <br /> agencies and private residences as required. Services are provided by professionally qualified individuals from <br /> accredited agencies. <br /> By whom are services provided: <br /> Direct services to children and families are provided by health/medical care professionals, mental health care <br /> providers, victim advocates, law enforcement officers, forensic child interview specialists, deputy prosecuting <br /> attorneys, crime victim advocates and case workers. Administrative services are provided by the Dawson <br /> Place Director and Office Manager. <br /> Key partners who provide victim services include: <br /> • Snohomish County Sheriff's Special Investigations Unit (SIU)—detectives and support staff. <br /> • Providence Intervention Center for Assault and Abuse (PICAA)—victim advocates, legal advocate, <br /> volunteer advocates, ARNPs, R.N.s, Sexual Abuse Nurse Examiners (SANE), medical assistants, and <br /> support staff, etc. <br /> • Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney's Special Assault Unit(SAU)—deputy prosecuting attorneys, <br /> legal secretary, legal assistants, crime victim advocates. <br /> • Compass Health's Child Advocacy Program (CAP)—licensed therapists & support staff <br /> • Child Protective Services (CPS)—case workers <br /> • Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center(DPCAC)—director, office manager, child interview specialist <br /> • Everett Police Department's (EPD) Special Assault Unit-detectives <br /> Snohomish County Law Enforcement agencies (detectives) also participate and utilize the Dawson Place <br /> facility and services. <br />
