2. ASSUMPTIONS FOR AMENDMENT NO. 1 <br /> This scope of work is based on the following assumptions: <br /> a. This project includes a comprehensive detailed design effort; however, for bid <br /> assistance and construction administration, the Consultant will have a minor <br /> supporting role only. <br /> b. Budget for the project scope for detailed design through bidding is based on a project <br /> schedule of 10 months, commencing with notice-to-proceed in mid-August 2012. <br /> Construction support services is subject to the level of effort requested by the City <br /> and budget allocated. <br /> c. Rehabilitation of CSO PSO3 will be undertaken by a separate design effort and <br /> coordination with the Sewer M project will be necessary. <br /> d. The Consultant may shift budget between work tasks in order to adjust for <br /> differences in scope or level of effort—planned versus actual with approval of City's <br /> Project Manager. Consultant will discuss any proposed budget adjustments with the <br /> City in advance. <br /> e. The City will provide certain documents including, but not limited to, the list below. <br /> f. The City's CAD Standards will be used. <br /> g. Design and Standard Specifications and Details shall utilize: <br /> • City of Everett's Design and Construction Standards. <br /> • Washington State Department of Transportation/American Public Works <br /> Association (WSDOT/APWA), Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge and <br /> Municipal Construction, 2010 edition. <br /> • The City's master specifications and applicable additional provisions to the <br /> Standard Specifications. <br /> • Washington Department of Ecology latest edition of Criteria for Sewage Works <br /> Design (the Orange Book). <br /> • Additional design references as may be furnished by the City such as <br /> examples from previous projects. <br /> h. All City-supplied information /references will be provided to the Consultant within two <br /> weeks of Notice To Proceed on this Amendment. <br /> i. The Consultant will rely on General and Special Provisions, Standard Specifications, <br /> • and Standard Details provided by the City. The Consultant may recommend changes <br /> to the Standard Specifications where project conditions warrant. The Consultant will <br /> prepare technical specifications for the project. <br /> j. Design budget is based on production of 104 drawings. <br /> k. Pavement and street layout designs will utilize City standard approach. <br /> I. Design will utilize City approved standard pipe materials. <br /> m. The City will be responsible for leading the project permitting effort, preparing permit <br /> applications and acquiring project permits. The City will prepare SEPA checklist and <br /> other environmental activities and permit applications/approvals. Consultant will <br /> furnish quantities for excavation and backfill for the SEPA checklist. <br /> n. Traffic control during construction will be the responsibility of the contractor. Traffic <br /> control requirements will be provided in the specifications and through general notes <br /> on the drawings.
