the Surveyor. Requests for field markings are anticipated to be slightly staggered by
areas to coincide with Surveyor's field work plan.
• The City has provided a sample "Consultant Field Notebook", access to on-line atlas of
monument locations, and example of surveyor's field book as expectation of what is to
be provided as a deliverable at the end of the surveying /mapping effort.
• City will provide staff to assist Consultant in obtaining field data for"confined space
entry" structures, if necessary. The City will provide confined space entry services, if
necessary.
• The City will obtain property rights-of-entry, if needed.
• The City will provide available electronic mapping / utility data; as is available.
• For budgetary purposes, it is assumed that 12 potholes will be required to ascertain
location of existing buried utility lines.
• The City will provide enough copies of new field books for use by the Surveyor to record
their survey field notes.
Activities:
Pipeline Alignment. Conduct surveys of existing City combined and storm sewer pipeline
alignments and connecting structures. Surveyor will secure necessary permits and approved
traffic control plans as required by the City of Everett to perform this work.
Surveys will include:
• Location of local sewers (combined, sanitary and storm) and structures, around Lift Station 8
(LS08) and elsewhere within the above described project boundaries.
• Rim, invert, and weir elevations for all manholes, catch basins, storm drain inlets and other
connecting structures in and along alignment. For invert elevations, measure to channel or
pipe end in such a manner as to accurately determine the vertical distance. Horizontal
structure location shall be measured at the center of the structure base—not the manhole
frame and cover. Provide data sheet summarizing attributes for each structure showing
collected information; number using City numbering convention, which will be provided;
assemble into the Survey and Mapping Notebook described below.
• Provide photos for all manholes and only for unusual catch basins, storm drain inlets and
other connecting structures. Assemble into the Survey and Mapping Notebook described
below.
• Set temporary bench marks (TBMs) at each street and alley intersection and generally at a
midpoint between intersections. Maximum distance between TBMs will be 300 feet. TBMs
shall be placed in locations with little likelihood of being disturbed during construction.
• Surveyor will document all field work in City-furnished field books and will return the field
book(s) through the Consultant to the City upon completion of the project.
• Prepare a Survey and Mapping Notebook similar to the example provided by the City from
the Sewer L Project, which included
o Primary City GPS Network
o Monument Recovery Forms
o Survey Control Plan
o GPS Network
o GPS Field Notes
July 2012 r6.0 Page 6 of 19 Jacobs Engineering Group
16
