I
5) Lateral Earth and Static Pressures
vii. Potential for pile supported foundations
viii. Perform buoyancy calculations and propose methods to counteract buoyancy
forces if needed.
6. Evaluate constructability issues including pipe support, dewatering, access, coordination
with WPCF operations, and anticipated construction schedule.
7. Develop construction constraints including wastewater flow bypassing requirements.
8. Preliminary Engineer's Estimate of Probable Construction Cost:
a) Estimate of the construction cost will follow the expected level of accuracy for an
Associate for the Advancement of Cost Engineering Class 5 estimate.
9. Provide in-house QA/QC of documents.
Client Responsibilities
1. Provide timely input on all deliverables and information requests from the Consultant.
Client reviews shall be completed within 3 -weeks.
2. Provide consolidated review comments on provided (or City) forms.
3. Actively participate in workshops to provide input and design recommendations and
preferences.
4. Provide desired input on features for new and upgraded facilities.
5. Provide input on existing and desired facility/plant operation.
6. Provide geotechnical information and reports for previous projects in the immediate
vicinity of the proposed Diversion Structure 0 project.
Assumptions
1. The Pre -Design report will be prepared as a DOE Engineering Report to demonstrate
continued regulatory CSO compliance of SRO3. Final model predicted flows for the
combined sewer rainfall time series along with the one year return flow from the Hayes
Street project will be provided by the City. Flow predictions from other future projects
such as the 171h Street interceptor will be based on the Comprehensive Sewer- Plan
model or the most current City sewer model.
2. Geotechnical work will be completed, if needed, in the design phase and is not included
at this time. Structural assumptions will be updated at a later date when geotechnical
recommendations have been provided.
3. Location of existing utilities will be based on existing information; however, critical
utilities or those with anticipated conflicts will be verified in the surveying subtask prior to
final design.
4. Design flows and loads have been established through previous facility planning and will
be available for incorporation into the current design.
5. Existing plant PLC/SCADA network block diagram is available and will be provide in
AutoCAD format.
6. Pre -Design Repor i will be no more than 20 pages and include approximately 6 11'x17"
Figures (1 PFD's, 1 plan vie%v layout, 1 section view(s), 33 plan/profile sheeis).
Citf e I Emere+i —WPCF Diversion Structure 0 22 Scone ol Services
