14 EXHIBIT A=4 SCOPE OF WORK for ADDITIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES LIFT STATION NO. 24 REPLACEMENT PROJECT CITY OF EVERETT WORK ORDER NO. UP 3313 Background Murray, Smith&Associates, Inc. (MSA) has developed the following modifications to the original scope of work and fee estimate for engineering design for the Lift Station No. 24 Replacement Project, City of Everett Work Order No.UP 3313. The modifications to the scope of work reflect the current project to date as it has developed over the past few years. The original scope of work was developed in June 2009. Due to delays associated with property acquisition and permitting,the majority of the final design services was performed in 2011 and early 2012. Additional tasks, outside the original scope of work,were required to support the project as it has developed over the past few years. These additional tasks include: • Additional project management to reflect the extension of time and scope of the project over the past three years. • Additional surveying services to map the critical areas as defined by others. • .Additional support to assist the City with permitting and environmental reviews. • Additional support for permitting and environmental reviews associated with the creek relocation. • • Evaluation and inclusion of influent flow metering into the project. • Additional design services associated with the creek relocation. • Additional design services after the 90% submittal. • Servicesto acquire construction permits. • Evaluate impacts and accommodate the County's Silver Way culvert replacement project. • Design modifications resulting from the force main failure. Scope Modifications These additional tasks are defined as follows and are identified as additional task items to the original scope of work.
