I <br /> 4 <br /> Aggregates for asphalt treated base shall be manufactured from ledge rock, talus, or gravel, in <br /> I accordance with provisions of Section 3-01 that meet the following test requirements: <br /> Los Angeles Wear, 500 Rev. 30%max. <br /> Degradation Factor 15 min. <br /> Aggregates for asphalt treated base shall meet the following requirements for grading: <br /> Sieve Size Percent Passing <br /> 1 2" 99-100 <br /> 1/2" 56-100 <br /> I No. 4 32-72 <br /> No. 10 22-57 <br /> No.40 8-32 <br /> No. 200 2.0-9.0 <br /> All percentages are by weight. <br /> I The grade of paving shall be as required in the Contract. <br /> 4-06.3 Construction Requirements <br /> Do NOT construct the asphalt treated base course until all underground utilities are completed <br /> and inspected and approved by the Engineer. <br /> I Asphalt treated base may be placed for providing temporary access to adjoining properties <br /> where directed by the Engineer. <br /> ,I 4-06.3(1) Asphalt Mixing Plant <br /> Asphalt mixing plants for asphalt treated base shall meet the following requirements: <br /> I Heating <br /> The plant shall be capable of heating the aggregates to the required temperature. <br /> Proportioning <br /> The mixing plant shall be capable of proportioning: the aggregates to meet the Specifications; <br /> and the asphalt at the rate specified by the Engineer.
