Contractor shall remove the existing steel liner and perform associated concrete patch repairs to <br /> the existing parshall flume. Following diversion of water from the SHW, the Contractor shall <br /> verify details of the parshall flume liner plate and allow the Engineer access for inspection of <br /> the flume and liner plate condition. It is anticipated that a steel plate exists along the flume,and <br /> is anchored to the concrete. The Contractor shall remove all portions of the plate, or to a <br /> minimum of 1 inch below the surface of concrete, unless directed otherwise by the Engineer. <br /> Patch all areas of removed concrete with epoxy grout.The patched areas shall be a minimum of <br /> 6 inches x 6 inches with a minimum depth of'/z". The grout shall be placed on a roughened <br /> surface. <br /> The Contractor shall furnish and install a slide gate on the inside wall of the SHW over the newIt <br /> permanent bypass pipe,as indicated in the plans_ <br /> Slide gate dimensions shall provide a minimum clear opening greater than pipe diameter and <br /> shall perform in accordance with AWWA C561. Slide gate shall be operable by a non-rising <br /> stem mechanism.Gate operator shall consist of a 2-inch square nut positioned within a cast iron <br /> box and cover(per Everett Std.Detail 604)that is grouted into the SHW structure top slab. <br /> Slide gate shall be manufactured by Golden Harvest Inc., Waterman Industries, or approved <br /> equal. All parts of the slide gate shall have a minimum thickness of 1/4 inch. Slide gate <br /> manufacturer's nameplate shall include serial number, size,class,or pressure rating,and year of <br /> manufacture. <br /> • Guide Frames, Invert Spigot, Flange, and Stems shall be Type 304L Stainless Steel in <br /> accordance with ASTM A276 <br /> • Disc and Yoke Retainer shall be Type 304 Stainless Steel in accordance with ASTM <br /> A240 <br /> • Guide frame shall include Ultra High Molecular Weight (UHMW) Polyethylene seats <br /> on both sides <br /> • Invert seal shall be Neoprene in accordance with ASTM D2000 <br /> • All fasteners and bolts shall be Type 304 Stainless Steel <br /> The slide gate shall be fully assembled in a shop to ensure that all components fit together <br /> properly, with proper clearances and alignment. Contractor shall submit shop drawings of slide <br /> gate and components for approval by the engineer. <br /> A stainless steel spigot or flange shall be provided as part of the gate frame and seals shall be <br /> provided to prevent excessive leakage. Seals shall be attached to the frame and held in place by <br /> a bolted retainer bar and shall extend along sides and across the invert on slide gates. Seals <br /> shall be field replaceable and adjustable and shall not protrude into the gate opening. <br /> The lift nut shall be flanged and supported on roller bearings. The bearings and lift nut <br /> shall be mounted in a housing supported by a pedestal or mound on the yoke of the <br /> gate. Mechanical seals shall be provided around lift nut and shaft. Anti-friction thrust <br /> washers or bearing plates will not be permitted. The yoke to support the operator-nut stand <br /> shall be formed by two structural members welded at the top of the guides to provide a one <br /> piece rigid frame. The operator housing shall be cast steel or cast iron and shall be furnished <br /> with a threaded bronze lift nut to engage the threaded portion of the stem.An adjustable bronze <br /> stop collar shall be provided to limit upward and downward travel.[M°d`fi`a°"Aaa`°�"°'#i] <br /> 6-02.3(29)D Epoxy Coating of Internal Surfaces I <br /> Upon completion, and acceptance by the engineer, of all internal modifications to the SHW <br /> structure the contractor shall install a protective epoxy coating to all existing and new concrete <br /> surfaces.
