The planning aspect of the CDBG funding complements the physical improvements in the <br /> neighborhoods by promoting appropriate land use, historic preservation, and economic <br /> development planning. <br /> Recommended 2010 CDBG Funds: $213,340.00 <br /> 2. Neighborhood Improvement Projects <br /> The City of Everett has allocated funds to the following Everett Neighborhoods: Riverside, <br /> Port Gardner, and Delta. The neighborhoods were surveyed in order to set priorities for the <br /> spending of CDBG funds. The neighborhood groups then develop strategies for spending <br /> the funds according to those priorities. The funds for Neighborhood Improvement Projects <br /> are recommended to be spent as follows: <br /> Delta Neighborhood <br /> $20,000.00 for adding sidewalks, neighborhood clean-up, replacing broken sidewalks, <br /> street trees, traffic improvements, drainage improvements, street safety projects, bus <br /> shelters, and street safety projects. <br /> Port Gardner Neighborhood <br /> $20,000.00 for adding sidewalks, neighborhood clean-up, replacing broken sidewalks, <br /> street trees, traffic improvements, drainage improvements, street safety projects, bus <br /> shelters, and street safety projects. <br /> Riverside Neighborhood <br /> $20,000.00 for adding sidewalks, neighborhood clean-up, replacing broken sidewalks, <br /> street trees, traffic improvements, drainage improvements, street safety projects, bus <br /> shelters, and street safety projects. <br /> Recommended 2010 CDBG Funding: $60,000.00 <br /> 3. Interfaith Association — Maintenance & Operation <br /> These funds will be used for the maintenance and operation costs associated with running <br /> Interfaith family shelter. <br /> Recommended 2010 - 2060 funds: $45,000.00 <br /> 4. Senior Services of Snohomish County - Minor Home Repair <br /> This program provides for the provision of minor and emergency repairs to lower income <br /> elderly and handicapped homeowners citywide. Minor Home Repair fills a serious gap in <br /> housing rehabilitation for persons requiring emergency and minor home repairs. <br /> Recommended 2010 CDBG Funds: $80,000.00 <br />
