The site
is served by a combined sanitary sewer and stormwater sys- upper parking lot and large maple tree
tem. One 12-inch main runs in a south to north direction at the
east edge of the athletic fields. A 4-inch line connects to it from
the restrooms. A 24-inch mainline runs south to north to a
manhole in the northwest corner of the site then turns to the xx=a
east.
Some on-site detention may be required. During larger storm
events, some stormwater may be required to be diverted into s
an existing storm-only sewer located at the northwest corner of ; 1 '1` ' '
the site. r r ■-cog& i. Fire hydrants are located near or adjacent to the site near -
the corner of 17th Street and Chestnut Street, and at 18th Street Picnic shelter
near the southwest corner of the park.
The park electrical and lighting systems are outdated.
Existing Buildings and Structureslorff' :
Four buildings occupy the existing park site: a restroom; a
storage building; an electrical service shed; and a picnic shel-
ter. The first three buildings are located at the base of the
slope near the athletic field backstops. The picnic shelter is
situated at the west side of the park.
The current restroom building is a pre-engineered metal panel
and roof structure more than twenty years old. The restroom Storage building and athletic fields
does not meet code requirements for accessibility. The former
park restroom building is now being used for storage. The
quality of construction and condition of the finishes of these
PAR-
two buildings are poor.
The electrical service shed is a concrete masonry structure in - o
somewhat better condition than the restroom and storage , ,.
buildings; however, construction quality and park design aes- r, -•
thetic are poor.
The picnic shelter is an open sided structure with columns on
concrete slab/pavement and a metal roof.
