1 DESWORK.GR1 <br /> 2 DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br /> 3 <br /> 4 FDESWORKI.DOCX <br /> 5 (March 13, 1995) <br /> 6 This Contract provides for the improvement of ***The construction of 23,673 tons <br /> 7 of Hot Mix Asphalt, Class % inch, PG 64-22, two inch (2") thick, on selected <br /> 8 City Streets, including grinding, utility adjustments, such as manhole, catch <br /> 9 basin, inlet, valve box, monument case and cover, striping, channelization, <br /> 10 traffic induction loops *** and other work, all in accordance with the attached <br /> 11 Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 1-01.3.RTF <br /> 14 1-01.3 Definitions <br /> 15 (January 4, 2016 APWA GSP) <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Delete the heading Completion Dates and the three paragraphs that follow it, and <br /> 18 replace them with the following: <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Dates <br /> 21 Bid Opening Date <br /> 22 The date on which the Contracting Agency publicly opens and reads the <br /> 23 Bids. <br /> 24 Award Date <br /> 25 The date of the formal decision of the Contracting Agency to accept the <br /> 26 lowest responsible and responsive Bidder for the Work. <br /> 27 Contract Execution Date <br /> 28 The date the Contracting Agency officially binds the Agency to the Contract. <br /> 29 Notice to Proceed Date <br /> 30 The date stated in the Notice to Proceed on which the Contract time begins. <br /> 31 Substantial Completion Date <br /> 32 The day the Engineer determines the Contracting Agency has full and <br /> 33 unrestricted use and benefit of the facilities, both from the operational and <br /> 34 safety standpoint, any remaining traffic disruptions will be rare and brief, and <br /> 35 only minor incidental work, replacement of temporary substitute facilities, <br /> 36 plant establishment periods, or correction or repair remains for the Physical <br /> 37 Completion of the total Contract. <br /> 38 Physical Completion Date <br /> 39 The day all of the Work is physically completed on the project. All <br /> 40 documentation required by the Contract and required by law does not <br /> 41 necessarily need to be furnished by the Contractor by this date. <br /> 42 Completion Date <br /> 43 The day all the Work specified in the Contract is completed and all the <br /> 44 obligations of the Contractor under the contract are fulfilled by the <br /> 45 Contractor.
