September 30, 2015 Council Member Gipson spoke about the budget expansion for the Everett Public Library, Evergreen Branch. He requested the inclusion of this topic on the Budget and Finance Subcommittee meeting agenda and the Council budget discussion. Council Member Roberts concurred with the comments regarding the Public Safety Subcommittee meeting. He presented to the Council of Neighborhoods the Regional Transit expansion Sound Transit 3 (ST3) process last Monday. Council Member Roberts announced his plans to meet with the neighborhood groups in the first quarter of 2016. Council Member Stonecipher reported on her attendance at "Making Connections Part One: North and South Everett — What's the Difference?" meeting at the Everett Public Library, Main Branch. She thanked the Mayor and City staff for the street initiatives proposal. Council Member Tuohy thanked everyone who participated at the Public Safety Subcommittee meeting and reminded the public that the next Public Safety Subcommittee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 5:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, with a focus on the comprehensive review of the Everett Fire Department operation presented by Fitch and Associates. Vice President Murphy concurred with the comments regarding the Public Safety Subcommittee meeting. He provided a recap on the first Budget and Finance Subcommittee meeting, which took place on September 9, 2015. Vice President Murphy announced that the second Budget and Finance Subcommittee meeting is scheduled for October 21, 2015, at 5:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers. Topics will include property tax exemption and possibly, if approved by the Council, budget expansion for the Everett Public Library, Evergreen Branch. Vice President Murphy also reported on his attendance at the annual retreat for the Snohomish Health District and his attendance at the Council of Neighborhoods meeting.
