October 7, 2015 <br />Council Member Murphy also commented on the new Council <br />Procedures, which allow the public to only observe while in attendance at <br />Council subcommittee meetings. He suggested making a change that <br />would allow a brief period of time for public input. <br />President Bader stated the suggestion was well noted, and that over next <br />couple of weeks, the Council can look at possible revisions. <br />Council Member Roberts also responded to Council Member Murphy's <br />suggestion adding that it is important for subcommittees to be able to <br />complete their work and finding the right balance is key. Council Member <br />Roberts reported on his attendance at Association of Washington Cities <br />Board meeting. He announced that the AWC Board will be conducting a <br />workshop on December 1, 2015, concerning the subject of homelessness, <br />health, and various issues. Council Member Roberts also commented on <br />his attendance at a transportation presentation meeting yesterday in <br />Seattle. <br />Council Member Tuohy reported that the second Public Safety <br />Subcommittee meeting was held this afternoon and the Fitch consultants <br />were present to answer questions regarding the Fire Department study. <br />She reminded folks that recommendations to the full council were not <br />anticipated for several months. <br />Council Member Gipson stated he supported citizen input at future <br />Council subcommittees. <br />Council Member Stonecipher congratulated the Monte Cristo award <br />winners in advance as she would be unable to attend this year. She also <br />stated she received a telephone call this evening concerning a large <br />gathering of individuals blocking sidewalks at Smith Avenue. <br />CITY ATTORNEY <br />The City Attorney had no comments. <br />303 <br />
