Or, were you just looking for us to come up with a total cost of the steel and apply 80%
of the cost to Bid Item A95 and 20% of the cost to Bid Item B7?
Answer—Determine a single lump sum price for all Structural Low Alloy Steel, Grade 50 or
50W, per Sheet 0.01. 80% will be paid under bid item A95 and 20% will be paid under Bid
Item B7.
Question 3
Can 1.8M sectional casing be used as the temporary casing for the 6'diameter drilled shafts?
Answer—Yes.
Question 4
Reference S7.01-S7.03. We assume all SD, CS, and CSFM pipe support material shown on these
drawings is to be provided per Division 7 Special Provisions and paid for under Bridge
Supported Steel Pipe Bid Items A41, A67, and A69. Please confirm.
Answer—Confirmed. Please provide additional information on the type of
walkway grating required (e.g. bearing bar and cross bar size and spacing).
Answer—See note below "Grating Walkway Detail". Contractor to size grating appropriately
for the span, and submit design to the Engineer for approval.
Question 6
Reference S3.03 (& similar). The HS bolts at the box truss members cannot be torqued from
the inside as there is insufficient clearance for the torquing equipment (as little as 12-1/2"
between chord webs). We assume in these cases, the nuts may be placed on the outside of the
connection to facilitate torquing. Please confirm.
Answer—Nuts are to be placed inside. If no industry available torque or shear wrench can
work due to space limitations then a consistent pattern must be established between the
engineer and contractor regarding a nut pattern visible from the outside. Random reversing of
nuts and bolts is not permitted.
City of Everett Addendum No. 2
Project Bid
Grand Avenue Park Bridge Page 3
