SECTION 02622 - CONCRETE CURB AND GUTTER <br /> PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> 1.01 DESCRIPTION <br /> A. The work of this section consists of the construction of concrete curb, gutter, waterways or <br /> combination curb and gutter,tapered ends, at locations and to lines, grades,dimensions,and designs <br /> indicated, including construction of bed course. <br /> 1.02 RELATED WORK SPECIFIED ELSEWHERE <br /> A. Concrete work - Section 02626, Untreated base course- Section 02606. <br /> 1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> A. Standards,American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials(AASHTO). All work <br /> shall be according to Local Jurisdiction Standards. <br /> PART 2 - MATERIALS <br /> 1 2.01 BED COURSE MATERIAL <br /> A. Untreated base course, cinders, slag, sand, gravel, crushed stone, or approved porous material <br /> graded to pass an 1/2 inch sieve. <br /> 2.02 CONCRETE <br /> A. Section 02626 Type II, air entraining. <br /> 2.03 EXPANSION JOINT FILLER <br /> ' A. Preformed, bituminous,AASHTO M33; preformed, non-extruding, non-bituminous,AASHTO M153; <br /> or preformed, non-extruding, bituminous, AASHTO M213. <br /> PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 EXCAVATION AND BEDDING <br /> A. Excavate to required depth; remove all soft,yielding material;replace with suitable material. Compact <br /> base to firm, even surface. Place bed course material and compact to required thickness. <br /> 3.02 FORMS <br /> A. Wood or metal of depth indicated. Uniform, free from warpage, set to alignment and grade. On <br /> curvatures, set arc segments without chords. Use for both inside and outside face of curbs. Join <br /> neatly, tightly, and securely; stake to line and grade;tamp on both sides.
