ICITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS IMeasurement for furnishing and installing combined sewer pipe will be based on lineal footage measured horizontally along the invert of the installed pipe from center of manhole I to center of catch basin. Where pipe enters a vault, it shall be measured to the inside face of the vault wall. The unit contract price for Combined Sewer Pipe, _-Inch Diam. shall constitute full I compensation for all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to furnish and install the pipe and all fittings, required for complete installation along the run of each pipe size, as shown on the Plans and specified herein, and additionally, shall include, but not be limited to, the following: I1. Removal of structures or obstructions not specifically covered under other Bid Items. This shall include, but not be limited to, removal and disposal of thrust blocks, miscellaneous landscaping, and sod as indicated on the Plans. I 2. All required potholing to verify locations of water service crossings and existing utilities. 3. Utility or light pole protection in conformance with the requirements of the applicable utility including, if necessary, arranging for the utility to protect poles and paying the I associated fees. 4. Trench excavation and dewatering, installation of pipe, furnishing, placing and compacting backfill for pipe bedding, furnishing, placing and compacting suitable I native material for trench backfill and placing and compacting imported backfill material. 5. Jointing dissimilar types of combined sewer pipe with a coupling or adaptor. I 6. Steel sheeting for covering open excavations left overnight to protect public from injury and property damage. 7. Maintenance, restoration and/or relocation, if required, of existing culverts, storm I drainage pipe, other utilities and structures affected by construction that are to remain. 8. Ethafoam pads or sand backfill between storm drain pipe and other pipes. 9. Testing of pipe in conformance with the contract documents. 10. Extra depth, including excavation, backfill and compaction required to clear known buried utilities or other known obstacles. 11. Work required to avoid unexpected or unforeseen obstacles shall be paid for under the Force Account item. The costs for pot-holing and excavation required to determine I exact depths and locations of other utilities shall be included with this Work with no direct compensation made. Bid Item 24- Temporary Sewer Flow Bypassing at R4 Site Measurement and Payment: Lump Sum Measurement for temporary sewer flow bypassing will be based on the percentage of total I Work complete, by dollar value, at the time of measurement. Any remainder will be paid when new combined sewer facilities are accepted by the City and all temporary sewer flow bypassing components are removed. I Payment for temporary sewer flow bypassing will be made at the measured percentage amount for the pay period times the lump sum amount bid. Said payment shall be complete compensation for a complete sewer flow bypassing plan, all labor, materials, I equipment, pumps, bypasses, etc. necessary to maintain the continual wastewater flow and to prevent wastewater discharge to the environment throughout the duration of constructing new or rehabilitating existing combined sewers within the Project in accordance with the I Contract Documents.
