CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 1 7-10.1(2) Definitions <br /> Traffic Duty: Access hatch doors and frame will support HS-30 loading. <br /> Stiffeners: Provides structural reinforcement to meet loading requirements. <br /> Frame: Provides structural support for the hatch door and anchoring support. <br /> 7-10.1(3) Submittals <br /> ' In accordance with the requirements of Section 1-06, submit the following product <br /> technical data and information: <br /> ' 1. Manufacturer's technical data and information for each access hatch to verify <br /> conformance with the Contract Documents. <br /> 2. Schedule, types, locations, materials, finish, latching provisions and other <br /> pertinent information. <br /> 1 3. Structural calculations that demonstrate that the design meets load criteria. <br /> 4. Shop drawings showing dimensions, tolerances, construction details, and <br /> other pertinent installation information and instructions. <br /> 1 5. Operation and maintenance manual including parts list. <br /> 7-10.2 Materials <br /> 7-10.2(1) Acceptable Manufacturers <br /> Subject to compliance with the Contract Documents, the following manufacturers are <br /> acceptable <br /> Ii. LW Products <br /> 2. Approved equal <br /> 7-10.2(2) Manufactured Units — Materials and Fabrication <br /> Traffic Duty access hatches shall meet the following requirements: <br /> 1. Access hatch doors and frames will be designed to meet load requirements <br /> specified herein. Size and number of leafs will be as indicated in the Access <br /> Hatch Schedule and Drawings. <br /> 2. Doors shall be constructed of aluminum and stainless steel materials. Traffic <br /> duty doors will be constructed of 3/8 -inch minimum structural grade <br /> aluminum, mill finish, non-slip diamond plate. Provide stiffeners as required <br /> to meet load requirements. <br /> 3. Traffic duty frame will be constructed of 3/8—inch minimum structural grade, <br /> one piece aluminum extruded frame having a continuous concrete anchor as <br /> part of the one piece construction. The inside of the frame shall have a <br /> continuous door-support angle which must have a full bed of concrete under <br /> both the frame and the support angle. Frame shall have 1-1/2 inch drain <br /> welded under frame to allow free drainage. <br /> 4. Doors shall be hydraulic spring assisted, open to 90 degrees and lock <br /> automatically in that position by a stainless steel positive locking arm (two <br /> ' minimum per leaf) and release handle. No more than 30 pounds of force <br /> shall be required to open hatch cover. Hinges shall be stainless steel with <br /> tamper proof fasteners and be hinged as shown on the drawings. <br /> 5. Doors shall have a stainless steel lifting handle and stainless steel slam lock <br /> with padlock hasp and removable key handle. <br /> 6. Doors shall be bolted down. <br /> 7. Hatches shall be protected from corrosion. Coat all surfaces in contact with <br /> concrete or dissimilar metals with two heavy coats of bituminous paint or <br /> equivalent. <br /> 8. All hardware shall be stainless steel. <br /> 9.
