1 b. Revitalization of neighborhood commercial areas in, or <br /> adjacent tu, designated housing rehabilitation neighborhoods; <br /> 2 <br /> c. Revitalization of commercial areas designated by the City <br /> 3 and where revitalization plans have already been completed; <br /> 4 d. Land acquisition, infrastructure improvements, etc., for <br /> the redevelopment of industrial land. <br /> 5 <br /> Fourth priority shall be to improve major or area-wide public <br /> 6 utility services, such as, water/sewer trunk lines, drainage <br /> facilities, streets, solid waste disposal facilities and infrastructure <br /> 7 improvements that meetthe objectives of the Block Grant program. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 WHEREAS, the adopted plan fails to recognize the high priority for major <br /> 10 infrastructure improvements in the City of Everett. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> 13 CITY OF EVERETT, THAT: <br /> 14 the amended Block Grant Strategy Plan read as follows: <br /> 15 1. Activity priorities for Everett's 1979-1981 Development <br /> Block Grant funds shall be as follows: <br /> 16 <br /> First priority shall be to improve residential neighborhoods <br /> 17 and expand housing opportunities within the City. Subpriorities <br /> under this area shall be: <br /> 18 <br /> a. Expand housing opportunities through improvements <br /> 19 of the housing stock and site acquisition for low and <br /> moderate income housing; <br /> 20 <br /> b. Improvements and/or new construction of neighborhood <br /> 21 public works, such as, sidewalks, streets, parks and <br /> recreation, and utilities; <br /> 22 <br /> c. Improvements and/or new construction of publicly <br /> 23 owned community facilities serving a specific <br /> neighborhood, such as multi-service centers, <br /> 24 health or recreation centers, etc. <br /> 25 d. Social Services in support of other physical develop- <br /> ment activities undertaken with Block Grant funds, <br /> 26 including, but not limited to, employment, crime <br /> prevention, child care, health, drug abuse, and <br /> 27 education. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
