CITY OF EVERETT PUBLIC WORKS 01 70 00 <br /> SPECIAL PROVISIONS EXECUTION AND CLOSEOUT REQUIREMENTS <br /> a. Plan for 51-inch x 36-inch wye tie-in work after October 1 and before March 1, <br /> 2017. <br /> b. Tie-in work must be completed within 30 consecutive hours after City Water <br /> Operations has removed the head off the line and turned over to Contractor. <br /> 1) The 30 hour time allotment will begin when the City Representative gives <br /> the Contractor written notice that pressure head is off the pipe. <br /> c. Tie-in work must be completed prior to the 36-inch bypass pipe installation. <br /> B. Verify that field measurements are as indicated on approved Shop Drawings or as instructed by <br /> manufacturer. <br /> C. Secure products in place with positive anchorage devices designed and sized to withstand <br /> stresses,vibration,physical distortion,or disfigurement. <br /> 1. Secure Work true to line and level and within specified tolerances, or if not specified, <br /> industry-recognized tolerances. <br /> 2. Physically separate products in place, provide electrical insulation, or provide protective <br /> coatings to prevent galvanic action or corrosion between dissimilar metals. <br /> 3. Exposed Joints: Provide uniform joint width and arrange to obtain best visual effect. <br /> Refer questionable visual-effect choices to Engineer for final decision. <br /> D. Allow for expansion of materials and vault movement. <br /> E. Climatic Conditions and Project Status: Install each unit of Work under conditions to ensure <br /> best possible results in coordination with entire Project. <br /> 1. Isolate each unit of Work from incompatible Work as necessary to prevent deterioration. <br /> 2. Coordinate enclosure of Work with required inspections and tests to minimize necessity <br /> of uncovering Work for those purposes. ' <br /> F. Mounting Heights: Where not indicated, mount individual units of Work at industry recognized <br /> standard mounting heights for particular application indicated. <br /> 1. Refer questionable mounting heights choices to Engineer for final decision. <br /> G. Adjust operating products and equipment to ensure smooth and unhindered operation. <br /> H. Clean and perform maintenance on installed Work as frequently as necessary through remainder <br /> of construction period.Lubricate operable components as recommended by manufacturer. <br /> 3.4 CUTTING AND PATCHING <br /> A. Employ skilled and experienced installers to perform cutting and patching. ' <br /> B. If Contractor elects, pipe cutting may start at the top of the pipe after the pressure head is <br /> lessened to a level the Contractor is comfortable working with and prior to the pipe being totally <br /> empty. <br /> C. Execute cutting,fitting, and patching to complete Work and to: <br /> 1. Fit the several parts together,to integrate with other Work. <br /> 2.
