1 or other business entity to operate a towing business or towing service <br /> 2 within the corporate limits of the City of Everett without first obtaining a <br /> 3 license therefor issued by the City. Such license shall not be transferable <br /> 4 and upon a sale or other transfer of the towing business, a new license must <br /> 5 be obtained as provided in this ordinance. The fact that the operation of <br /> 6 any tow truck is ancillary to the operation of any other business shall not <br /> 7 exempt such operation from the licensing requirements of this chapter. The <br /> 8 license herein required is in addition to a general business license <br /> 9 required by the Everett Municipal Code and the regulations established <br /> 10 herein are supplemental to the general licensing requirements of the Everett <br /> 11 Municipal Code. <br /> 12 Section 3: APPLICATION FOR LICENSE - INVESTIGATION. <br /> 13 Application for a towing business license must be made in writing on an <br /> 14 application form furnished by the City and must be filed with the City <br /> 15 Clerk, accompanied by a non-refundable investigation fee in the amount of <br /> 16 Fifty Dollars ($50) . The investigation fee will only be imposed on new <br /> 17 applicants or those applicants who fail to renew their license. The <br /> 18 application shall include full information concerning the ownership of the <br /> 19 business, the number and type of vehicles to be operated, the name under <br /> 20 which the applicant intends to operate, the legal form of the business <br /> 21 entity operating the business, the office address of the towing business, <br /> 22 the address of any storage facilities, the name and address of the person in <br /> 23 charge of the business plus any additional information reasonably required <br /> 24 by the City Clerk and/or Chief of Police. <br /> 25 The application shall be referred to the licensing official designated <br /> 26 by the City Clerk who shall determine whether all requirements have been met <br /> 27 and information furnished as required by the provisions of this ordinance. <br /> 28 The licensing official may call upon the Chief of Police to conduct an <br /> 29 investigation to obtain pertinent information relating to the license <br /> 30 application. <br /> 31 All equipment to be used in the towing business shall be available for <br /> 32 inspection by the Everett Police Department during reasonable business hours. <br /> 2 <br />
