• <br /> 1 inspection by the Police Department at any reasonable time and place. <br /> 2 Inspection shall be for the purpose of ascertaining that the tow trucks <br /> 3 comply with the requirements of this chapter, carry the required permit of <br /> 4 the Department of Licenses of the State of Washington, and comply with the <br /> 5 requirements of the motor vehicle laws of the State of Washington. If it is <br /> 6 determined that the condition of a tow truck needs correction, the operator <br /> 7 or driver shall be notified thereof in writing, which notice shall specify <br /> 8 the defect or defects and the date prior to which the same shall be <br /> 9 remedied. If it is determined that a tow truck is in an unsafe condition, <br /> 10 such written notice shall specify the same, and shall direct the operator or <br /> 11 driver to cease operation thereof immediately, and until corrected. Such <br /> 12 inspections will be made at no charge to operator. <br /> 13 Section 13: DRIVERS. <br /> 14 All drivers must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid <br /> 15 Washington operator's license with the proper class of commercial driver's <br /> 16 license where required, and be able to demonstrate that he/she is covered by <br /> 17 the insurance policy of the towing business specified in Section 4. <br /> 18 Section 14: RECORDS OF CHARGES. <br /> 19 Upon the rendering of any towing service, every licensee or its agent <br /> 20 or employee shall record the charge therefor upon a record with sufficient <br /> 21 identifying information to ascertain vehicle, owner, nature of service and <br /> 22 identity of person requesting such service. Such records shall be kept for <br /> 23 a period of at least twelve (12) months. <br /> 24 Section 15: SOLICITING BUSINESS. <br /> 25 It is unlawful for any person to drive or operate a tow truck on any <br /> 26 public street or way open to the public for the purpose of solicitation of <br /> 27 business, without having been called to the location of an accident, <br /> 28 disabled vehicle, or impound by the owner or operator of the vehicle, his <br /> 29 authorized agent or the police. <br /> 30 Section 16: LICENSEES AUTHORIZED FOR POLICE IMPOUNDS. <br /> 31 A.
