1 enforcement of this chapter. Such mark shall be by chalk upon the tires of said vehicles or by some other convenient 2 method but will not be injurious to or damage such vehicle. The marks so placed shall not be interfered with, 3 concealed, obliterated or erased by any person other than a police officer or parking enforcement officer, while the 4 same shall remain parked or standing at the place where so marked. It shall constitute a parking violation to 5 interfere with, conceal , obliterate or erase any mark in violation of this section. 6 is hereby amended to read as follows: 8 Enforcement of parking regulations. 9 A. The parking regulations set forth in this chapter shall be 10 enforced by the City's police officers and the City's parking enforcement officers, and by the City's park 11 rangers for parking violations occurring within one thousand (1 ,000) feet of any City park. However, it shall 12 be the primary responsibility of the parking enforcement officers to enforce this chapter, as well as any other 13 parking regulations adopted by the City. Parking enforcement officers shall be employees of the City under 14 the direction of the City's police department. 15 B. Failure to perform any act required or the performance of any act prohibited by this chapter is designated as a 16 parking violation and shall not constitute an infraction or a criminal offense, unless otherwise indicated in this 17 chapter. 18 C. City police officers and City parking enforcement officers have the authority to issue a notice of parking violation 19 when the parking violation is committed in the officer's presence. 20 D. City park rangers have the authority to issue a notice of 21 parking violation when the parking violation is committed in the park ranger's presence and the parking violation is 22 committed within one thousand (1 ,000) feet of any City park. 23 E. If any vehicle is found parked, standing or stopped in violation of this chapter or otherwise violates the 24 provisions of this chapter, the officer or park ranger finding the vehicle shall take its license number and may 25 take any other information displayed on the vehicle which may identify its user, and shall conspicuously affix to the 26 vehicle a notice of parking violation. A notice of parking violation represents a determination that a parking 27 violation has been committed. The determination will be final unless contested as provided in this chapter. 28 F. The police officers and parking enforcement officers in 29 charge of the enforcement of the parking regulations of the City shall , and are authorized to, mark such vehicles 30 parked, standing or stopped from time to time to aid in the enforcement of this chapter.
