Such mark shall be by chalk <br /> upon the tires of said vehicles or by some other convenient <br /> 2 method but will not be injurious to or damage such <br /> vehicle. The marks so placed shall not be interfered with, <br /> 3 concealed, obliterated or erased by any person other than a <br /> police officer or parking enforcement officer, while the <br /> 4 same shall remain parked or standing at the place where so <br /> marked. It shall constitute a parking violation to <br /> 5 interfere with, conceal , obliterate or erase any mark in <br /> violation of this section. <br /> 6 <br /> is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 8 Enforcement of parking regulations. <br /> 9 A. The parking regulations set forth in this chapter shall be <br /> 10 enforced by the City's police officers and the City's <br /> parking enforcement officers, and by the City's park <br /> 11 rangers for parking violations occurring within one <br /> thousand (1 ,000) feet of any City park. However, it shall <br /> 12 be the primary responsibility of the parking enforcement <br /> officers to enforce this chapter, as well as any other <br /> 13 parking regulations adopted by the City. Parking <br /> enforcement officers shall be employees of the City under <br /> 14 the direction of the City's police department. <br /> 15 B. Failure to perform any act required or the performance of <br /> any act prohibited by this chapter is designated as a <br /> 16 parking violation and shall not constitute an infraction or <br /> a criminal offense, unless otherwise indicated in this <br /> 17 chapter. <br /> 18 C. City police officers and City parking enforcement officers <br /> have the authority to issue a notice of parking violation <br /> 19 when the parking violation is committed in the officer's <br /> presence. <br /> 20 D. City park rangers have the authority to issue a notice of <br /> 21 parking violation when the parking violation is committed <br /> in the park ranger's presence and the parking violation is <br /> 22 committed within one thousand (1 ,000) feet of any City park. <br /> 23 E. If any vehicle is found parked, standing or stopped in <br /> violation of this chapter or otherwise violates the <br /> 24 provisions of this chapter, the officer or park ranger <br /> finding the vehicle shall take its license number and may <br /> 25 take any other information displayed on the vehicle which <br /> may identify its user, and shall conspicuously affix to the <br /> 26 vehicle a notice of parking violation. A notice of parking <br /> violation represents a determination that a parking <br /> 27 violation has been committed. The determination will be <br /> final unless contested as provided in this chapter. <br /> 28 F. The police officers and parking enforcement officers in <br /> 29 charge of the enforcement of the parking regulations of the <br /> City shall , and are authorized to, mark such vehicles <br /> 30 parked, standing or stopped from time to time to aid in the <br /> enforcement of this chapter.
