• <br /> 1 <br /> 2 Department Heads shall accrue vacation at the rate of two (2) <br /> 3 days per month or 24 days per year. <br /> 4 No vacation credit accrual will be allowed in excess of two (2) <br /> 5 full years accrual . <br /> 6 EXCEPTION: Effective January 1 , 1986, no employee shall have <br /> vacation credit accrual in excess of thirty (30) days at the time of his/her <br /> 8 retirement/separation. In the event that an employee elects to retire, all <br /> 9 vacation accrual in excess of thirty (30) days must be taken prior to the <br /> 10 effective retirement/separation date or be lost to the employee. <br /> 11 No vacation shall be granted until the Appointive Officer has <br /> 12 completed a minimum of six (6) months of City service without prior <br /> 13 permission of the Mayor. <br /> 14 E. The City shall grant Appointive Officers leave of absence with <br /> 15 pay for the following reasons: <br /> 16 1 . Funeral Leave: When approved by the Mayor, Appointive <br /> 17 Officers shall be granted reasonably necessary time off <br /> with pay to assist with funeral arrangements and to attend <br /> 18 funeral services. <br /> 19 2. Sick Leave: Upon employment with the City, Appointive <br /> Officers shall have available immediately ten (10) days of <br /> 20 sick leave with pay. All Appointive Officers shall accrue <br /> sick leave at a rate of two (2) days per month to a total <br /> 21 maximum of one hundred and twenty (120) work days. While <br /> still actively employed with the City of Everett, should <br /> 22 any monthly disability payment be made to the Appointive <br /> Officer as a benefit resulting from any insurance coverage <br /> 23 provided by the City, the City shall only pay the <br /> difference between the amount of the benefit and the <br /> 24 Appointive Officer' s normal monthly salary. In no case, <br /> shall such sick leave payment exceed one hundred and twenty <br /> 25 (120) work days at eight (8) hours per day. <br /> 26 Section 2: CLASSIFIED NON-REPRESENTED EMPLOYEES: <br /> 27 A. The work week for all Classified Non-Represented Employees shall <br /> 28 be established by the Mayor in accordance with what s/he deems necessary and <br /> 29 appropriate for efficient functioning of the City government. Classified <br /> 30 Non-Represented Employees who are FLSA exempt shall in no instance be <br /> 31 accorded premium pay for the following: overtime, call -back, or, if <br /> 32 <br /> 3 <br />
