1 Occupancies, and in Group B, Division 1 , Occupancies, where <br /> the floor area exceeds 6,000 square feet on any floor or <br /> 2 12,000 square feet on all floors; however, the area and <br /> height increases specified in Section 506 (c) and 507 shall <br /> 3 be permitted. The area of mezzanines shall be included in <br /> determining the areas where sprinklers are required. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 be and the same amendment is hereby deleted in its entirety. <br /> 6 <br /> Section 3: That Section 4(G) of Ordinance No. 1248-86 (EMC 16.01 .090) <br /> 7 <br /> which amended Section 3313(b) of the 1985 Edition of the Uniform Building <br /> 8 <br /> Code reads as follows: <br /> 9 <br /> 10 G. Section 3313(b) of the 1985 Edition of the UBC is hereby <br /> amended by deleting: <br /> 11 <br /> 12 (b) Power Supply. 1 . Separate branch circuits. The <br /> power supply for exit illumination shall be provided by two <br /> separate branch circuits of the normal premises wiring <br /> 13 system, unless an emergency system is installed, where the <br /> occupant load served by the exiting system exceeds the <br /> 14 following: <br /> 15 A. One hundred in both Group H Occupancies and in Group <br /> R, Division 1 Occupancies. <br /> 16 <br /> B. Fifty in Group I Occupancies. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 C. Three hundred in all other occupancies. <br /> One of the required circuits shall supply only fixtures <br /> 19 used for exit illumination or exit signs. The other <br /> circuit may supply current to other outlets. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 2. Separate sources of power. The power supply for exit <br /> 22 illumination shall normally be provided by the premises <br /> wiring system. In the event of its failure, illumination <br /> 23 shall be automatically provided from an emergency system <br /> where the occupant load served by the exiting system <br /> exceeds: <br /> 24 <br /> 25 A. Nine hundred and ninety-one in Group A, Division 1 <br /> Occupancies. <br /> 26 B. Five hundred in Group A, Division 2 or 2.1 <br /> 27 Occupancies except churches with an occupant load of <br /> less than 750. <br /> 28 C. One hundred in Group I Occupancies. <br /> 29 D. One hundred in Group R, Division 1 Occupancies having <br /> 30 an interior exit corridor system. <br /> E. Five hundred in Group B, Division 2 Occupancies used <br /> 31 for retail sales or offices. <br /> 32 <br /> 2 <br />
