• <br /> • <br /> 1 (2) For each succeeding one-fifth mile or fraction <br /> thereof, twenty-five cents; <br /> 2 <br /> (3) For each additional person for the whole journey, <br /> 3 fifty cents; <br /> 4 (4) For each minute of waiting time or fraction thereof, <br /> twenty-five cents. ($15.00/hr) <br /> 5 <br /> b. Waiting time shall include the time when the taxicab is not <br /> 6 in motion, beginning with the arrival at the place to which <br /> it has been called, or the time consumed while standing at <br /> 7 the directive of the passenger. No charge shall be made <br /> for time lost for inefficiency of the taxicab or its <br /> 8 operator or time consumed by premature response to a call . <br /> The above charges shall be for one person. <br /> 9 <br /> c. Limitation on wait time charges - The charge for waiting <br /> 10 time on a taximeter shall not be utilized when the taxicab <br /> is traveling in excees of fifteen (15) miles per hour. <br /> 11 <br /> d. The charges herein set forth shall be binding upon the <br /> 12 owners and drivers of such taxicabs and any collection of <br /> fares in excess of said rates shall be deemed to be a <br /> 13 violation of this ordinance. <br /> 14 B. Special Service Vehicles <br /> 15 1 . As a requirement of licensing, a schedule of rates to be charged <br /> by the applicant for a special service vehicle shall be <br /> 16 established by the applicant and filed with the City Clerk. <br /> 17 2. Before putting into effect changed rates a licensee must file the <br /> new schedule with the City Clerk at least fifteen (15) days in <br /> 18 advance. If the new rate requires adjustment of the taximeter, <br /> the licensee may not use the new rate until the adjustment has <br /> 19 been made and the meter resealed by the City of Everett Weights <br /> and Measures Director. The licensee must withdraw any <br /> 20 advertisement of the previous rates before using new rates. The <br /> licensee must post the new rate schedule in compliance with the <br /> 21 requirements of this ordinance. Rates may be changed by filing a <br /> new rate schedule with the City Clerk not more than two times <br /> 22 during the license year and not sooner than three (3) months <br /> after the most recent previous rate change. <br /> 23 <br /> 3. No person owning, operating or controlling any special service <br /> 24 vehicle shall charge a rate different than the rate filed with <br /> the City Clerk. <br /> 25 <br /> C. If demanded by the passenger, the driver in charge of a for-hire <br /> 26 vehicle shall deliver to the person paying for the hiring of same at <br /> the time of such payment a receipt therefor, in legible type of writing <br /> 27 containing the name of the owner or cab name, or the City indicia <br /> number, the driver' s name and for-hire license number, and any items <br /> 28 for which a charge is made, the total amount paid, and the date of <br /> payment. <br /> 29 <br /> D. With the exception of subsections B of this section which authorizes <br /> 30 special service vehicle licensees to establish their own rates, the <br /> other rates provided for in this section may only be changed by <br /> 31 amendments to this ordinance adopted by the City Council . <br /> 32 <br /> 16 <br />
