The applicant must successfully complete a written examination, testing <br /> the applicant's knowledge of ordinance requirements dealing with <br /> 2 ownership responsibilities and prerequisites to licensing, <br /> vehicle/equipment requirements; and <br /> 3 <br /> J . Such other information the City Clerk may require, which he/she deems <br /> 4 reasonably necessary to aid in the enforcement of this ordinance. <br /> 5 Section 6: LICENSE FEE <br /> 6 The license fees are fixed in the amounts shown in the following <br /> 7 schedule and shall be payable annually in advance: <br /> 8 <br /> For-hire vehicle business license $150 per year per company plus <br /> 9 $75 per year for each for-Fire <br /> vehicle <br /> 10 <br /> For-hire vehicle driver's license fee $30 for initial license and $15 <br /> 11 per year for renewal ; in order to <br /> qualify for renewal , must have <br /> 12 been licensed for the previous <br /> year <br /> 13 <br /> 14 The fees set forth in this schedule are non-refundable. <br /> 15 Section 7: FOR-HIRE BUSINESS LICENSE - ISSUANCE, RENEWAL, DENIAL, <br /> 16 SUSPENSION AND REVOCATION <br /> 17 <br /> A. It is unlawful to own or operate a for-hire vehicle, or engage in the <br /> 18 business of operating as a taxi-cab or for-hire vehicle in the City of <br /> Everett without first having obtained a license from the City Clerk <br /> 19 covering each and every vehicle so used to be known as a for-hire <br /> vehicle business license. <br /> 20 <br /> B. A license will be denied to any person if the City Clerk, after due <br /> 21 investigation, finds t� the applicant or the owner has done any of <br /> the following: <br /> 22 <br /> 1 . Made any false statement on the application or omitted <br /> 23 information required on the application; <br /> 24 2. Had a conviction or bail forfeiture involving crimes pertaining <br /> to alcohol , controlled substances, prostitution, gambling, <br /> 25 physical violence, or crimes directly related to the applicant's <br /> honesty and integrity (fraud, larceny, extortion, theft, etc. ) <br /> 26 and ablility to properly operate a for-hire vehicle business, <br /> 27 within three years of the date of application; <br /> 3. Exhibited conduct within the past three years in driving, <br /> 28 operating or engaging in the business of operating any for-hire <br /> vehicle which would lead the City Clerk to reasonably conclude <br /> 29 that the applicant will not comply with ordinance requirements <br /> relating to vehicle safety and sanitation standards, insurance <br /> 30 requirements, or vehicle and driver licensing requirements; <br /> 31 4. Been refused a for-hire license or had such license revoked under <br /> 32 the provisions of this ordinance; provided, however, that any <br /> applicant denied a license under the provisions of this ordinance <br /> may reapply after one year from the denial if the basis for <br /> denial no longer exists; <br /> 5 <br />
