PUBL/C WORKS
..,_,,
iii. The source of power for the pump needs to be shown on the drainage plan, and
the design of the electrical feed and connection must be approved as part of the
building pernlit.
iv. If the stormwater pump fails on this site, there will be no controlled stormwater
discharge from the site. For these types of situalions, City policy requires a
duplex pun1 station that has auxiliary power, including an automatic transfer
switch.
v. Emergency cverflow requirements must be rnet in the event the pump system
fails (City 2010 SWMM, Chapter 2.9 of Volume III) and must be discussed in
the report. "I'he emergency overflow location must be shown and identified on
the plans.
vi. The location of the pump panel must be shown on the plans. The pump panel
must have a visible and audible high-level alarm with push-to-silence switch.
b. Storm system improvements in lOth Street (sheet COS):
i. City standards require a minimum 12" diameter for storm drainage pipe located
in the right-of-way.
ii. City standards require a catch basin at pipe junctions — the core tap shown at key
note 58 does not meet City standards, which require a catch basin at pipe
junctions.
c. Alley runoff(sheet COS):
i. As cLu•rently shown, the allcy is sloped to drain to vCC propeity t ihe east and
a rocl< pad is shown at the northeast corner of the portion of the alley that will
rcmiiil im}cr°ious. 'lhis rcposal is un.iccctalc unlcss 1?vC'C riut tlc C'it
formal drainage easement to drain alley runoff into EvCC property, particularly
for the impei•vious portion of the alley.
d. Pump notes/detail (sheet C07):
i. Drawings specific to the pump installation on the site need to be provided. In
order to reduce possible confusion, any of the more general or alternate
information that typically comes on standard pump drawings. and which doesn't
apply to this particular installation, should be removed or crossed-out.
ii. The notes located under the storm drainage pump specifications table should all
be deleted—the City will require specific information to be provided in the report
and on the plans prior to approval of the plans.
iii. The majority of the pump general notes may be deleted from sheet C07 as they
guide the design of the system — and the current design shows compliance with
the pump general notes, with few exceptions. However, Note 4 should be
retained and changed to read "An electrical permit is required for the electrical
hookup of the pump system."; Note 10 should be retained and changed to read
"City of Everett" instead of "King County"; Note 15 should be retained and
changed to read "A visible and audible alarm system is required for the pump
system."; and Note 16 should be retained and changed to read "Pump systems are
subject to City of Everett inspection".
