1 Repair, Vacation and Demolition. The following standards shall be <br /> followed by the Building Official (and by the Board of Appeals if an appeal <br /> 2 is taken) in ordering the repair, vacation or demolition of any dangerous <br /> building or structure: <br /> 3 <br /> 1. Any building declared a dangerous building under this ordinance <br /> 4 shall either be repaired in accordance with the current Building <br /> Code or shall be demolished at the option of the building owner. <br /> 5 <br /> 2. If the building or structure is in such condition as to make it <br /> 6 immediately dangerous to the life, limb, property or safety of the <br /> public or its occupants, it shall be ordered to be vacated. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 and inserting in its place: <br /> 9 <br /> 403 - Standards To Be Followed. The following standards shall be <br /> 10 followed by the Building Official (the City Council if a demolition <br /> resolution and by the Board of Appeals if an appeal is taken) in ordering <br /> 11 the repair, vacation, or demolition of any dangerous building or structure: <br /> 12 1. Any building declared a dangerous building shall either be repaired <br /> in accordance with the current Building Code or shall be <br /> 13 demolished at the option of the building owner. <br /> 14 2. If the building or structure is in such condition as to make it <br /> immediately dangerous to life, limb, property or safety of the <br /> 15 public or its occupants, it shall be ordered vacated; a vacated <br /> building may be required to be secured against unauthorized entry. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 E. Section 801(a) of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous <br /> 18 Buildings, 1985 Edition, is hereby amended by deleting: <br /> 19 <br /> Procedure. When any work of repair or demolition is to be done <br /> 20 pursuant to Section 701(c) 3 of this Code, the Building Official shall issue <br /> his order therefor to the Director of Public Works and the work shall be <br /> 21 accomplished by personnel of this jurisdiction or by private contract under <br /> the direction of said Director. Plans and specifications therefor may be <br /> 22 prepared by said Director, or he may employ such architectural and <br /> engineering assistance on a contract basis as he may deem reasonably <br /> 23 necessary. If any part of the work is to be accomplished by private <br /> contract, standard public works contractual procedures shall be followed. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 and inserting in its place: <br /> 26 <br /> Procedure. When any work of repair, securing or demolition is to be <br /> 27 done pursuant to Section 701(e) 3 of this Code, the Building Official shall <br /> order the work to be accomplished by the City personnel or by private <br /> 28 contract under the direction of said Building Official. Plans and specifi- <br /> cations therefor may be prepared by said Building Official or he may <br /> 29 employ such architectural and engineering assistance on a contract basis <br /> as he may deem reasonably necessary. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br /> 3 <br />
