1 (c) Administrative Authority - The Administrative Authority is the Building Official and is the official authorized to administer and 2 enforce the provisions of this Code. 3 I. Section 117(g) of the 1985 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code is 4 hereby amended by deleting: 5 6 (g) Plumbing System - The plumbing system means and includes all potable water supply and distribution pipes, all plumbing fixtures and 7 traps, all drainage and vent pipe and all building drains, including their respective joints and connection, devices, receptacles and appurtenances 8 within the property lines of the premises and shall include potable water piping, potable water treating or using equipment, fuel gas piping, water 9 heaters and vents for same. 10 and inserting in its place: 11 12 (g) Plumbing System - The plumbing system means and includes all potable water systems and distribution pipes, all plumbing fixtures and 13 traps, all drainage and vent pipe and all building drains, including their respective joints and connections, devices, receptacles and appurtenances 14 within the property lines of the premises and shall include potable water piping, and potable water treating or using equipment. 15 16 J. Section 1004 of the 1985 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code is hereby 17 amended by deleting: 18 (a) Water pipe and fittings shall be of brass, copper, cast iron, 19 galvanized malleable iron, galvanized wrought iron; galvanized steel, lead or other approved materials. Asbestos-cement, PB, PE, or PVC water 20 pipe manufactured to recognized standards may be used for cold water distribution systems outside a building. PB water pipe and tubing may be 21 used for hot and cold water distribution systems within a building. All materials used in the water supply system, except valves and similar 22 devices shall be of a like material, except where otherwise approved by the Administrative Authority. 23 24 and inserting in its place: 25 (a) Water pipe and fittings shall be of brass, copper, cast iron, 26 galvanized malleable iron, galvanized wrought iron, galvanized steel, lead or other approved material.
