• <br /> . i r V <br /> • <br /> 1 In order to determine the suitability of alternate materials and methods <br /> of construction, to provide for reasonable interpretations of this Code and <br /> 2 to hear appeals from written orders issued by the City's Building Official, <br /> the Board of Appeals created pursuant to Ordinance No. 351-75 shall hear <br /> 3 these matters. Appeals from written orders of the Building Official must <br /> be filed within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of receipt of the <br /> 4 written order by the aggrieved party. The aggrieved party shall cause to <br /> be made at his own expense any tests or research required to substantiate <br /> 5 his claim. <br /> 6 <br /> B. Section 205 of the 1985 Edition of the UBC and the 1985 Edition of the <br /> 7 <br /> UBCS are each hereby amended by the addition of the following language: <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this <br /> Code shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and each such person shall <br /> 10 be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion <br /> thereof during which any violation of any the provisions of this Code, is <br /> 11 committed, continued or permitted, and upon conviction of any such <br /> violation, such person shall be punishable by a fine or not more than one <br /> 12 thousand dollars ($1,000) or by imprisonment for not more than ninety (90) <br /> days or by both such fine and imprisonment. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 C. Section 304(b) of the 1985 Edition of the UBC is hereby amended by <br /> 15 deleting: <br /> 16 <br /> Sec. 304(b) Permit Fees. The fee for each permit shall be as set forth <br /> 17 in Table No. 3-A. <br /> 18 The determination of value or valuation under any of the provisions of this <br /> Code shall be made by the Building Official. The value to be used in <br /> 19 computing the building permit and building plan review fees shall be the <br /> total value of all construction work for which the permit is issued as well <br /> 20 as all finish work, painting, roofing, electrical, plumbing, heating, air <br /> conditioning, elevators, fire-extinguishing systems and any other <br /> 21 permanent equipment. <br /> 22 <br /> and inserting in its place: <br /> 23 <br /> 24 Sec. 304(b) Permits and Inspection Fees.
