• <br /> • <br /> 1 waste valve. The Utilities Division shall refuse to turn on the water until <br /> 2 the provisions of this section are complied with. <br /> 3 Section 23: Service Pressure Corrections. <br /> 4 A. Excessive Pressure. In services where the water pressure at the main <br /> is considered by the customer to be in excess of the desired pressure, <br /> 5 such customer may, at his option, install an approved type strainer and <br /> pressure regulator on his own premises in an accessible location. All <br /> 6 costs of installation, operation and maintenance shall be borne by the <br /> customer. <br /> 7 <br /> B. Insufficient Pressure. In services where the water pressure at the <br /> 8 main is considered by the customer to be lower than the desired <br /> 9 pressure, such customer may, after first requesting and receiving <br /> approval of the Utilities Superintendent, install a pump and pneumatic <br /> tank, or by other approved means provide increased pressure to the <br /> 10 premises. The location of such installation shall be on the customer's <br /> premises and he shall bear all costs of installation, operation and <br /> 11 maintenance thereof. Provision for prevention of back flow shall be <br /> made a part of the installation as required by the Utilities <br /> 12 Superintendent. <br /> 13 Section 24: Presence of Customer at Turn-On Required. <br /> 14 Water service to a premises will be turned on only if the customer is <br /> 15 present to ascertain that no damage results from leaking or burst pipes or <br /> 16 fixtures within the premises when the turn-on is made, or when written <br /> 17 approval by the owner is submitted to the City Utility Billing Division or <br /> 18 Utilities Division. <br /> 19 Section 25: Special Turn-On and Shut-Off Charges. <br /> 20 A. Regular Hours. The times during which the Utilities Division shall <br /> normally make a service turn-on or shut-off shall be within the <br /> 21 prescribed working hours of the Division during the week, exclusive of <br /> Saturday, Sundays and holidays. If a turn-on or shut-off of water to a <br /> 22 premises is made at any time other than the time prescribed above, it <br /> 23 will be assumed to have been done for the customer's specific <br /> convenience and there shall be a special charge made for such shut-off <br /> 24 or turn-on, in an amount provided under the current water rates and <br /> charges and such special charge shall be added to and considered a part <br /> of the regular water billing for the premises. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 B. Use of Stop and Waste Valves. If the Utilities Division is requested <br /> to shut off and/or turn on the water service to a premises to enable <br /> 27 the owner, tenant or other person to make repairs or to replace piping, <br /> fixtures or other similar repairs or alterations affecting the water <br /> 28 service to such premises, and if such repairs, alterations or <br /> replacements could normally have been made by use of stop and waste <br /> 29 valves as required for all premises in Section 22 hereof, there shall <br /> be a special charge made for such shut-off and/or turn-on as provided <br /> 30 ander the current water rates and charges and such charge shall be <br /> added to and considered a part of the regular water billing for the <br /> 31 premises. <br /> 32 <br /> 9 <br />
