1 and/or meter box was not included in the original development, then the <br /> 2 property owner must purchase these at the time the building permit is <br /> 3 requested. <br /> 4 Section 34: Illegal Turn-On--Misdemeanor. <br /> 5 No person shall turn water on to any premises after it has been shut <br /> 6 off by the Utilities Division. In such case the water will be shut off and <br /> 7 will not be turned on again until all charges, including penalties, shall <br /> 8 have been paid. <br /> 9 Section 35: Illegal Taking of Water. <br /> 10 No person or persons shall take or use water from the water system <br /> 11 without having previously contracted for the same as provided in this <br /> 12 ordinance. <br /> 13 Section 36: Wasting Water Prohibited--Penalty Charge. <br /> 14 Owners of premises receiving fixed rate water service from the water <br /> 15 system shall be responsible for maintaining all piping, fixtures and <br /> 16 appurtenances on the customer's side of the service cock in a satisfactory <br /> 17 state of repair so that no water will be wasted. When it is found that <br /> 18 water is being wasted on a premises because of faulty or leaking piping, <br /> 19 fixtures or appurtenances or for any other reason, the consumer shall be <br /> 20 notified of the wastage by the Utilities Division and instructed to take <br /> 21 corrective action. If the consumer should fail or refuse to comply with the <br /> 22 notice, the water to the premises may be shut off until proper corrective <br /> 23 action has been taken, and a penalty charge of twenty dollars or such charge <br /> 24 as established by Council ordinance or resolution assessed against the <br /> 25 premises shall be paid before water service is restored. The penalty charge <br /> 26 shall be considered as a part of the water billing for the premises and may <br /> 27 be added thereto. In lieu of this remedy, the Utilities Division may <br /> 28 install a meter in the service line to a premises served under fixed rate <br /> 29 and thereafter charge for the water consumed at the applicable metered rate. <br /> 30 Section 37: Protection From Pipe Freezing. <br /> 31 It shall be the customer's responsibility to protect from freezing all <br /> 32 piping, fixtures and appurtenances on his side of the service cock or <br /> 13 <br />
