• <br /> 1 furnished without any charge in addition to the monthly minimum charge. <br /> 2 Water consumed through the nonfire service connection shall be paid for at <br /> 3 the applicable metered rates. <br /> 4 Section 51: Unauthorized Use of Detector Check Meter. <br /> 5 If occasional or repeated monthly consumptions occur, as shown by a <br /> 6 detector check meter, indicating unauthorized use of water which is not for <br /> 7 fire suppression purposes, and if, after being informed of such unauthorized <br /> 8 usage by the Utilities Superintendent, the customer fails or refuses to take <br /> 9 corrective action to assure that the unauthorized consumption will not <br /> 10 continue, the detector check meter shall be replaced by an approved fire <br /> 11 service meter and the customer shall pay all costs incident to such <br /> 12 replacement. Thereafter the customer shall pay for all water used through <br /> 13 such replaced service at the applicable metered rate. <br /> 14 Section 52: Single Service for Fire Protection and Other Use. <br /> 15 In the event both fire protection and other water service is provided <br /> 16 to a premises through a single connection, an approved fire service meter <br /> 17 shall be installed and all water consumed through such meter shall be paid <br /> 18 for at the applicable metered rate without credit for water which may be <br /> 19 used for fire suppression purposes. <br /> 20 Section 53: Fire Service to Premises with Separate Water Supply. <br /> 21 The water system shall be made available for private fire protection <br /> 22 systems which incorporate, or may have access to any water supply other than <br /> 23 that provided through the water system, by the following methods only: <br /> 24 A. An elevated tank or standpipe supplied at the top, and with sufficient <br /> 25 air-gap above the overflow. Such elevated tank or standpipe may then <br /> be connected to the fire protection system piping without a by-pass or <br /> 26 interconnection between the fire protection system piping and the <br /> supply connection from the water system main; <br /> 27 B. Construction of a ground storage tank or reservoir supplied at the top, <br /> 28 and with sufficient air-gap above the overflow. A pump taking its <br /> suction from such ground storage tank or reservoir may be installed for <br /> 29 pumping to an elevated tank and/or directly to the fire protection <br /> system pipe; <br /> 30 C. Two independent systems of piping without any by-pass or <br /> 31 interconnection whatsoever, one being supplied from the water system <br /> and the other from the independent water supply; <br /> 32 <br /> 19 <br />
