The Snohomish County Courthouse
Modernization project is not anticipated to generate 50 new PM peak-hour trips. However, the
GTC completed existing 2017 traffic counts to compare to the December 2014 Perteet traffic study
approved for a prior larger expansion proposal and reviewed Everett 2015/2016 downtown parking
study to that 2014 Perteet study.
4. TRIP GENERATION
Trip generation calculations for the campus utilized data published in the Institute of
Transportation Engineers(ITE) Trip Generation Manual, 9th Edition, Volume 2:Data(2012). ITE
Land Use Code 733, Government Office Building. The detailed data provided shows there is no
planed increase in FTE or operations on the site and therefore the project is not anticipated to
generate any new trips if ITE trip generation data for FTE is. However, ITE does provide trip
generation data based on building area. ITE identifies a PM peak-hour trip generation rate of 2.85
PM peak-hour trips per 1,000 SF.
