January 31, 2018 <br /> COUNCIL BRIEFING AGENDA: <br /> Port of Everett Report <br /> Presented by Lez Reardanz, CEO of Port of Everett <br /> President Roberts asked that an update of the Shoreline Master Program <br /> timeline be provided to Council. <br /> Sharita Burton, Everett, asked how many jobs will be coming to the City and <br /> if general population can visit the fountain project. <br /> Lez Reardanz stated that the Fisherman's Harbor project will create about <br /> 2,200 construction jobs and an additional 1,000 direct and indirect jobs <br /> expected after completion of the project. In addition, he stated that the <br /> public is only able to view the fountain construction progress from a <br /> sidewalk for safety reasons. <br /> Alcohol Impact Area: First Year briefing to Council <br /> Presented by Ryan Dalberg, Police Department <br /> Discussion ensued about substitute high alcohol content products, possible <br /> AIA expansion, and the negative impact of AIA on neighboring communities. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher requested a report be presented to the <br /> Council on an annual basis. <br /> Victor Harris, Everett, suggested incorporating the impact on neighboring <br /> communities, in particular, Marysville and Lynnwood, to the report. <br /> Chris Glans, Everett, stated that establishing an AIA is not solving the <br /> alcohol problem, it is just moving the problem around. <br /> Concur with the recommendations of the Human Needs Advisory <br /> Committee and adopt Resolution for Expenditure of the 2018 Human <br /> Needs Grant Funding as designated, in an amount not to exceed <br /> $439,200 <br /> Presented by Becky McCrary, Planning <br /> 42 <br />
