SECTION 01 56 39 - TEMPORARY TREE AND PLANT PROTECTION <br /> PART 1 GENERAL <br /> 1.1 SUMMARY <br /> 111 A. This Section includes provisions for temporary protection of trees and other plant life in <br /> preparation for Work. <br /> B. This specification shall be applied concurrently and in conjunction with other plant material <br /> protection measures herein described and specified. <br /> PART 2 MATERIALS -Not Used <br /> PART 3 EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 INSPECTION <br /> A. Inspect all trees specified on the Drawings for protection prior to construction. <br /> ' B. Accommodate inspection of tree and exposed roots by a City provided arborist. <br /> C. Verify all conditions on the Drawings with actual conditions at Site regarding tree protection <br /> 1 prior to any site disturbance. <br /> D. The ENGINEER must be present during demolition of existing conditions occurring within the <br /> drip line of trees designated to remain. <br /> E. Notify ENGINEER 24 hours prior to inspections and/or tagging of protected trees. <br /> i3.2 PROTECTION <br /> A. Install barricades specified in the Drawings at drip lines of trees designated to remain prior to <br /> the commencement of construction. <br /> B. Clearly designate protected trees and clear of any material storage, personnel, or vehicular <br /> movement. <br /> ' C. Provide temporary fencing, barricades, and guards as necessary or required to protect trees <br /> designated on the Drawings to remain, from damage above and below grade. <br /> D. Protect root systems of trees and plant life to remain. <br /> 1. Protect from damage due to noxious materials in solution caused by runoff or spillage <br /> during mixing and placement of construction materials. <br /> 2.
