Remove rubbish,trash,and junk from entire area within the Limits of Disturbance as material <br /> is generated. Stockpiling shall not be permitted without written approval of Owner. <br /> 3.6 CLEARING AND GRUBBING <br /> A. Clear and grub areas within limits shown in approved Clearing,Grubbing and Stripping Plan. <br /> B. Except in areas to be excavated, all holes resulting from the clearing and grubbing operations <br /> shall be backfilled and compacted in accordance with the applicable sections of these <br /> Specifications. <br /> C. Clearing: <br /> 1. Remove trees, saplings, snags, stumps, shrubs, brush, vines, grasses, weeds and other <br /> vegetative growth within the clearing limits shown in the Drawings, except those trees <br /> and shrubs noted to remain in the Drawings or as directed by the Engineer. <br /> 2. Clearing shall be performed in such a manner as to remove all evidence of the presence <br /> of vegetative growth from the surface of the project site and shall be inclusive of sticks <br /> and branches of thickness or diameter greater than 3/8-inch and of grasses, weeds, <br /> exceeding 12 inches in height except as otherwise indicated. <br /> 3. Clear undergrowth and deadwood,without disturbing subsoil. <br /> D. Grubbing: Clear areas required for access to site and execution of Work and remove all <br /> stumps,root wads, and roots over 1-inch diameter to the following depths: <br /> 1. Future Structures and Building Areas 24 Inches <br /> 2. Roads and Parking Areas 18 Inches <br /> 3. All other Areas 12 Inches <br /> 3.7 TREE REMOVAL <br /> A. Exercise care in cutting, felling, trimming, and handling of those trees shown for removal to <br /> prevent damage to neighboring trees and structures to remain. <br /> B. Tree Salvage: As shown on the Plans. <br /> C. No trees may be removed unless approved and permitted by the Engineer. <br /> D. Do not top trees unless otherwise specified or approved by Owner in writing. <br /> 3.8 REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL <br /> A. Native vegetation may be mulched and used on Site. <br /> SB.
