1 <br /> 1.3 SUBMITTALS <br /> A. Section 01 33 00, Submittals - Submittal Procedures: Requirements for submittals. , <br /> B. Excavation Support Systems <br /> 1. Plans and details for trench and excavation support systems. <br /> a. Shop drawings and supporting calculations shall meet the specified design criteria <br /> requirements and include the following: <br /> 1) Arrangement, size and details for individual excavation support system. <br /> 2) Construction methods and sequencing to be used for the installation and removal <br /> of each excavation support system. <br /> 3) Contingency plan for alternative procedures to be implemented if the excavation <br /> support system is found to perform unfavorably or if obstructions are <br /> encountered in the installation. <br /> 2. Provide for Engineer review prior to the beginning of construction activities requiring <br /> such systems. <br /> 3. No excavations shall be started until the submittal review is complete. <br /> 4. Review by the Engineer of the submitted design shall not be construed as a detailed , <br /> analysis of the adequacy of the support system, nor shall any provisions of the above <br /> requirements be construed as relieving overall responsibility and liability for the work. <br /> 1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE ' <br /> A. Contractor is solely responsible for quality assurance of temporary shoring. <br /> B. At each excavation support system location,provide the following: <br /> 1. Continual verification system is planned, executed, and maintained in accordance with ' <br /> applicable codes,regulations and good construction practice. <br /> 2. Systematic observation of suitability of shoring materials. <br /> 111 <br /> 3. Installation, excavation, settlement and lateral deflection monitoring. <br /> 4. Groundwater control. <br /> 5. Adjacent construction activities. <br /> 6. Other factors, as necessary. <br /> PERMITTING I <br /> C.
