Sidewalks and Safewalk Improvement Zones <br />The Plan also provides for significant investments in sidewalks to connect neighborhoods, <br />provide access to parks and provide safe walk routes to students. Key connections Silver Lake <br />Road and 47th Street are proposed, in addition to the multi-purpose trail systems previously <br />identified. <br />While many sidewalk maintenance and replacement programs will need to be developed for <br />existing facilities, there are several parts of the City that severely deficient in sidewalk <br />infrastructure. The Plan proposes to address these areas by working in conjunction with the two <br />TRANSPORTATION ELEMENT 59 <br />
