6. Note on drawings, Dryer to be vented to the exterior. <br /> 7. Provide detail for furring of 2x4 walls in existing garage to accommodate minimum R-21 <br /> insulation. The framing cavity is required to be a minimum of 5-1/2 inches thick for R- <br /> 21 insulation. <br /> 8. Insulation installed on the exterior of a building shall be protected from impact and from <br /> exposure to ultra-violet light. Provide detail to show how this is achieved. <br /> 9. Show how forced air furnace is provided with combustion air. Combustion air cannot be <br /> taken from a room used for sleeping. <br /> 10. Label the space outside of the new bedrooms for its intended use. Habitable rooms are <br /> required to have a minimum of 70 square feet with no dimension less than 7 feet. <br /> 11. Insulation at concrete stem walls is required to be minimum R-21 when insulated on the <br /> interior. Construction drawings call out 2 x 2 furred wall at 16 inches on center with <br /> rigid insulation and gypsum board . Insulation is not required on the inside and the <br /> outside of the same wall.
