b. Local streets shall be laid out to discourage use by <br /> through traffic. <br /> c. The use of curvilinear streets, cul-de-sacs, and short <br /> loops shall be encouraged where such use will result in a <br /> more desirable layout. <br /> d. Proposed streets shall be extended to the boundary lines <br /> of the tract to be subdivided and short subdivided, unless <br /> prevented by topography or other physical conditions, and <br /> in the opinion of the City such extension is not necessary <br /> or desirable for the coordination of the layout of the <br /> subdivision or short subdivision with the existing layout <br /> or the most advantageous future development of adjacent <br /> tracts. <br /> e. Access to Arterials: When a division or redivision of <br /> land borders on or contains an existing or proposed <br /> arterial, the City may require that access to such streets <br /> may be limited, such as common lot access points and lots <br /> fronting on interior streets. <br /> f. Dead End Streets: All permanent and temporary dead end <br /> streets will be limited in length and shall provide a <br /> turnaround in accordance with city standards. <br /> g. Street Standards: All streets shall be built to current <br /> city standards and meet minimum requirements for <br /> right-of-way width, pavement width, sidewalks and <br /> off-street parking as defined in classification of <br /> streets. The minimum requirement for - each street <br /> classification shall be based on the maximum potential <br /> number of dwelling units served by the logical extension <br /> of common streets to serve other land.
