1 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 2 <br /> POSTING OF SCHEDULE OF FARES. <br /> 3 <br /> A. INTERIOR OF FOR-HIRE VEHICLE. The owner of every <br /> 4 for-hire vehicle shall cause to be posted and maintained in a conspicuous <br /> location in the passenger's compartment of said vehicle a card of form, <br /> 5 size and color approved by the Everett Director of Weights and Measures, <br /> on which shall be shown a schedule of rates of fare charged by said owner, <br /> 6 which rates shall not be in excess of amounts fixed by this title. <br /> 7 B. EXTERIOR OF FOR-HIRE VEHICLE. A permanently <br /> affixed sign indicating the rates as set forth in Section 19 of this <br /> 8 ordinance shall be posted on both sides of the vehicle and be readable <br /> from the side of the vehicle. The sign shall be located on the upper half <br /> 9 of the body, below the window line affixed to the rear door; or when <br /> unavailable, placed immediately adjacent to the rear door. The lettering <br /> 10 shall be no smaller then 3/4" except for 1/2" minimum for "cents" rates, <br /> and shall be on a contrasting background. <br /> 11 <br /> The City of Everett Director of Weights and Measures shall have <br /> 12 available examples of such posting requirements indicating the allowable <br /> format and content of the signs and cards as required by this section. <br /> 13 <br /> C. The requirements set forth in subsections A and B herein <br /> 14 shall not apply to limousines. <br /> 15 <br /> Section 4: That Section 23 of Ordinance No. 779-81 (EMC 5.68.240 and <br /> 16 <br /> 5.68.250) reads as follows: <br /> 17 <br /> 18 CALL RECORD REQUIRED. Every vehicle for hire operator <br /> shall keep at the location for which his operator's license is issued a <br /> 19 chronological record showing each call for for-hire vehicle service <br /> ordered or made and the name and address of the person calling for the <br /> 20 service, the name of the driver who responded thereto, the number of the <br /> vehicle, the time and place of the origin and of the end of each vehicle <br /> 21 trip and the fee charged, and shall upon request of any person paying a <br /> vehicle charge, furnish a receipt showing such information. Such records <br /> 22 shall at all reasonable times be open to the inspection of the City Clerk or <br /> 23 Chief of Police or the designee of either. <br /> Any driver of a vehicle for hire employed to carry passengers to a <br /> 24 definite point shall make the most direct route possible that will carry the <br /> 25 passengers safely and expeditiously to their destination. <br /> 26 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 27 <br /> 28 CALL RECORD REQUIRED. Every vehicle for hire operator <br /> shall keep at the location for which his operator's license is issued a <br /> 29 chronological record showing each call for for-hire vehicle service <br /> ordered or made and the name and address of the person calling for the <br /> 30 service, the name of the driver who responded thereto, the number of the <br /> vehicle, the time and place of the origin and of the end of each vehicle <br /> 31 trip and the fee charged, and shall upon request of any person paying a <br /> vehicle charge, furnish a receipt showing such information.
