1 Employees are not limited to the number of suggestions they may submit. <br /> 2 However, each Suggestion Form should relate to only one subject. Suggestions which <br /> 3 are positive, constructive, timely, original, voluntary and beneficial are encouraged. <br /> 4 Although the Suggestion System is set up to consider all suggestions submitted by <br /> 5 eligible employees, there are certain types of suggestions which relate to matters <br /> 6 "beyond the scope of the Suggestion System" and such suggestions are ineligible for <br /> 7 consideration. <br /> 8 The Suggestion Award Board will adopt a list of examples for the purpose of <br /> 9 serving as a guide in determining appropriate, as well as inappropriate, ideas for <br /> 10 suggestions. <br /> 11 Section 4: AWARDS. <br /> 12 A. The Mayor is authorized to pay awards upon recommendation of the <br /> 13 Suggestion Award Board; provided that the Mayor's decision to award and the amounts <br /> 14 of award shall be final, subject to Sections 5 and 7 hereof. The Suggestion Award Board <br /> 15 and Mayor may use as a guide to determine the amount of award the estimated first <br /> 16 year savings anticipated after adoption of the suggestion with a minimum award of $25: <br /> 17 <br /> 1. Estimated first-year net savings up to $1,000. $25 for the first <br /> 18 $250 in benefits plus $5 for each additional $50 of benefits or <br /> fraction thereof (10% of cost savings). <br /> 19 <br /> 2. $1,001 - $10,000 <br /> 20 <br /> $100 for the first $1,000 benefits plus $5 for each additional $100 <br /> 21 or fraction thereof(10% - 5.5% of savings) <br /> 22 3. $10,001 - $20,000 <br /> 23 $550 for the first $10,000 in benefits plus $5 for each additional <br /> $200 or fraction thereof(5.5% - 4% of savings) <br /> 24 <br /> 4. $20,001 - $100,000 <br /> 25 <br /> ($800 for the first $20,000 in benefits plus $5 for each additional <br /> 26 $1,000 or fraction thereof (4% - 1.2% of savings) <br /> 27 5. $100,001 or more <br /> 28 $1,200 for the first $100,000 in benefits or more plus $5 for each <br /> additional $5,000 or fraction thereof (1.2% - .1% of savings) <br /> 29 <br /> 30 Monetary awards for safety suggestions will be based on their relative worth. In <br /> 31 addition to or in lieu of a monetary award, the employee submitting an accepted <br /> 32 <br /> -3- <br />
