• <br /> 1 the right-of-way use permit or parade authorization process. Any use of a City street <br /> 2 or alley in violation of this Section shall constitute a misdemeanor. Any person <br /> 3 convicted thereof shall be subject to a fine of up to Five Hundred Dollars ($500) and/or <br /> 4 six months in jail. <br /> 5 Section 23: Regulations Not Exclusive. <br /> 6 The provisions of this Ordinance imposing time limits on parking shall not relieve <br /> 7 any person from the duty to observe other and more restrictive provisions prohibiting or <br /> 8 limiting the stopping, standing or parking of vehicles in specified places or at specified <br /> 9 times. <br /> 10 Section 24: Enforcement of Parking Regulations. <br /> 11 A. The parking regulations set forth in this Ordinance shall be enforced by <br /> 12 the City's Police Officers and the City's Parking Enforcement Officers. However, it <br /> 13 shall be the primary responsibility of the Parking Enforcement Officers to enforce this <br /> 14 Ordinance, as well as any other parking regulations adopted by the City. Parking <br /> 15 Enforcement Officers shall be employees of the City under the direction of the City's <br /> 16 Police Department. <br /> 17 B. Failure to perform any act required or the performance of any act <br /> 18 prohibited by this Ordinance is designated as a parking violation and shall not constitute <br /> 19 an infraction or a criminal offense, unless otherwise indicated in this Ordinance. <br /> 20 C. City Police Officers and City Parking Enforcement Officers have the <br /> 21 authority to issue a Notice of Parking Violation when the parking violation is committed <br /> 22 in the officer's presence. <br /> 23 D. If any vehicle is found parked, standing or stopped in violation of this <br /> 24 Ordinance or otherwise violates the provisions of this Ordinance, the officer finding the <br /> 25 vehicle shall take its license number and may take any other information displayed on <br /> 26 the vehicle which may identify its user, and shall conspicuously affix to the vehicle a <br /> 27 Notice of Parking Violation. A Notice of Parking Violation represents a determination <br /> 28 that a parking violation has been committed. The determination will be final unless <br /> 29 contested as provided in this Ordinance. <br /> 30 E. The Police Officers and Parking Enforcement Officers in charge of the <br /> 31 enforcement of the parking regulations of the City shall, and hereby are authorized to, <br /> 32 -16- <br />
