I <br /> 1 3. All two-way left turn yellow lines and lane lines dividing two opposing directions <br /> 2 of travel shall be Type D plastic flat line. <br /> 3 4. Profiled plastic Type D material, where called for in the Appendices to the <br /> 4 Special Provisions, shall be used for lane line dividing traffic in the same <br /> 5 direction of travel including plastic skip white lane line, and solid white edge line, <br /> 6 or other lines staked by the Engineer. <br /> 7 5. All white parking lines shall be paint line. I <br /> 8 6. All wide line and dotted extension line shall be Type D plastic flat line. <br /> 9 7. Access parking space symbols, arrows, letters, bicycle symbols, and speed I <br /> 10 hump symbols shall be Type D extruded plastic flat line. Spray Type D is not <br /> 11 allowed. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 8-22.3(1) Preliminary Spotting <br /> 14 1 <br /> 15 Section 8-22.3(1) is supplemented with the following: <br /> 16 <br /> 17 (....;.) <br /> 18 Contractor Surveying — Roadway Striping and Channelization <br /> 19 <br /> 20 No survey control data or layout will be furnished by the Contracting Agency. <br /> 21 The Contractor shall be solely responsible for detailed documentation <br /> 22 (records) of all existing pavement markings and channelization in the field prior <br /> 23 to grinding operations. This work includes but is not limited to: field notes, <br /> 24 sketches, offset markings on curbs or staking if no curb exists. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 The records and offset marking/staking shall be adequate to allow the <br /> 27 pavement markings to be reproduced to a level of accuracy shown below: <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Lane widths ±0.1 feet (normal to alignment) <br /> 30 Longitudinal location of arrows and letters ±1.0 feet (parallel to alignment) <br /> 31 Longitudinal location of stop lines ±1.0 feet (parallel to alignment) <br /> 32 Transverse location of arrows and letters ±0.1 feet (normal to alignment) <br /> 33 Longitudinal location of transitions and tapers±1.0 feet (parallel to alignment) <br /> 34 Pavement marking starts and stops ±1.0 feet (parallel to alignment) <br /> 35 <br /> 36 The Contractor shall provide copies of any calculations, notes, and layout data <br /> 37 to the Engineer, or their assigned representative, prior to grinding. The <br /> 38 Contracting Agency will review the provided data, check the existing layout and <br /> 39 provide revisions as necessary for establishment of lane widths, arrow and <br /> 40 letter locations, tapers, transitions, other modifications, and pavement seams. <br /> 41 The Contracting Agency will require up to seven calendar days from the date <br /> 42 the data is received to conduct this review. No pavement grinding will be <br /> 43 allowed before this review is complete. The Contractor will make adjustments <br /> 44 to the curb marking and stakes to match the revisions prior to grinding. <br /> 45 <br /> 46 Based on these records and/or the offset staking, including any Contracting <br /> 47 Agency revisions, the Contractor shall perform all field marking and preliminary <br /> 48 spotting for all pavement marking and channelization both temporary and <br /> HOT MIX ASPHALT OVERLAY-2018 PAGE 52 OF 57 March 6,2018 <br /> WORK ORDER#3667 <br /> SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br />
