III <br /> 1 1-07.23(1).OPT2.GR1 <br /> 2 (January 2, 2012) <br /> I <br /> 3 Work Zone Clear Zone <br /> 4 The Work Zone Clear Zone (WZCZ) applies during working and nonworking <br /> 5 hours. The WZCZ applies only to temporary roadside objects introduced by the <br /> I 6 Contractor's operations and does not apply to preexisting conditions or <br /> 7 permanent Work. Those work operations that are actively in progress shall be <br /> 8 in accordance with adopted and approved Traffic Control Plans, and other <br /> I <br /> 9 contract requirements. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 During nonworking hours equipment or materials shall not be within the WZCZ <br /> ' 12 <br /> 13 unless they are protected by permanent guardrail or temporary concrete <br /> barrier. The use of temporary concrete barrier shall be permitted only if the <br /> 14 Engineer approves the installation and location. <br /> 15 <br /> I <br /> 16 During actual hours of work, unless protected as described above, only <br /> 17 materials absolutely necessary to construction shall be within the WZCZ and <br /> 18 only construction vehicles absolutely necessary to construction shall be <br /> 1 19 allowed within the WZCZ or allowed to stop or park on the shoulder of the <br /> 20 roadway. <br /> 21 <br /> I <br /> 22 <br /> 23 The Contractor's nonessential vehicles and employees private vehicles shall <br /> not be permitted to park within the WZCZ at any time unless protected as <br /> 24 described above. <br /> I 25 <br /> 26 Deviation from the above requirements shall not occur unless the Contractor <br /> 27 has requested the deviation in writing and the Engineer has provided written <br /> I <br /> 28 <br /> 29 approval. <br /> 30 Minimum WZCZ distances are measured from the edge of traveled way and <br /> 31 will be determined as follows: <br /> I32 <br /> Regulatory I Distance From <br /> Posted Speed Traveled Way <br /> 1 (Feet) <br /> 35 mph or less 10 * <br /> 40 mph 15 <br /> I 45 to 55 mph 20 <br /> 60 mph or greater 30 <br /> 33 *or 2-feet beyond the outside edge of sidewalk <br /> I 34 <br /> 35 Minimum Work Zone Clear Zone Distance <br /> 36 <br /> I 37 F1-07.23(1).OPT5.FRI.DOCX <br /> 38 (January 5, 2015) <br /> 39 <br /> I <br /> 40 Lane closures are subject to the following restrictions: <br /> 41 <br /> 42 *** <br /> 43 Cedar St No lane closures will be permitted between 2:00pm and <br /> I 44 6:00pm.
