Project: WFP Operations Building Seismic Retrofit- Rebid Change Order No.003 Change Order Effective Date: 1/25/18 Revised 2/14/18 Additional items such as air conditioning units, light fixtures, electrical conduits and water lines required removal so the seismic strengthening could be installed. This work change directive covers the additional time and expense to remove or remove and reinstall the additional MEP items. Work Change Directive—No. 009.1 — Core Drill Through Embedded Flatbar in the Wall and Beam Along Gridline B on the First Floor WCD —No. 009.1 is a lump sum revision for $13,172.00 and the addition of 4-working days. Justification: Several embedded '/2-inch thick steel flatbars were installed along the walls and beams near the middle of the Operations Building on the first floor. The steel flatbar prevented the installation of the per plan anchor bolts into the concrete walls and beams. These flatbars had been painted over and were not obvious. The flatbars were not shown in the contract plans or the record drawings. This work change directive covers the additional costs to core drill through the steel bars and to remove and replace existing mechanical items that conflicted with the use of a core drill. Work Change Directive—No. 010 — Perform Additional Ground Penetrating Radar on Slabs and Walls Due to Under Grouted or Ungrouted Cells in the Hollow Core Floor and Ceiling Panels: WCD —No. 010 is a lump sum revision of$8,257.50 and the addition of 2-Working Days. Justification: During construction, it was discovered that cells in the hollow core floor and ceiling panels were not grouted as shown in the contract plans and record drawings. Additional investigation, using ground-penetrating radar was required so the locations of the anchor bolts could be adjusted to match the grouted cells. This work change directive covers the additional cost to remobilize the ground penetrating radar contractor and for the contractor to locate hollow and grout filled cells. Work Change Directive— No. 015 — Install Steel Shims Between the L 8x6x1/2 and the hollow core panels or cast in place walls: WCD-015 is a lump sum revision of $28,677.00 and the addition of 15-working days. Justification: The elevations of the soffits of the existing hollow core ceiling panels vary. Elevation differences up to 5/8" were found between adjacent ceiling panels. As a result, the structural angle used to tie the ceiling into the wall, was not in contact with numerus ceiling panels. The Engineer's design allowed a gap of up to 1/16".
