4 <br /> • <br /> 1 In addition to the grounds set forth in this section, the City Clerk <br /> shall have the right to suspend or revoke any for-hire vehicle driver's <br /> 2 license on the grounds set forth in Ordinance No. 295-74, Chapter 1, <br /> Section 8, 1974, as it currently reads or is hereinafter amended. <br /> 3 <br /> Upon suspension or revocation of any for-hire vehicle driver's <br /> 4 license by the City Clerk, the licensee shall have a right to appeal the <br /> suspension or revocation of said license to City Council in the manner set <br /> 5 forth on Ordinance No. 295-74, Chapter 1, Section 8, 1974, as it currently <br /> reads or is hereinafter amended. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Section 3: Section 17 of Ordinance No. 779-81 which reads as follows: <br /> 8 <br /> Section 17: INSPECTION. Each vehicle for hire shall be <br /> 9 equipped and maintained at all times by the owner or operator for safety, <br /> cleanliness and lawful operation and in accordance wih the laws of the <br /> 10 City and the State and shall be furnished with such equipment as the <br /> Chief of Police shall deem necessary for such safe operation. All vehicles <br /> 11 for hire, prior to being licensed under the provisions of this chapter shall <br /> be inspected and approved by the Chief of Police or his designee. The <br /> 12 Chief of Police or his designee shall have authority to make routine <br /> inspections from time to time as he deems necessary and appropriate. <br /> 13 The Chief of Police or his designee shall have authority to promulgate <br /> inspection regulations which shall be filed in the office of the City Clerk. <br /> 14 The items to be inspected shall be listed on a form to be provided by the <br /> Chief of Police or his designee. Each item on said list shall be in <br /> 15 satisfactory condition before any license shall issue or be renewed under <br /> the provisions of this chapter. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 18 <br /> Section 17: INSPECTION.
