• <br /> 1 D. Fires for the prevention of a fire hazard, provided no alternate means of <br /> 2 prevention is reasonably available, for instruction of public officials in methods of fire <br /> 3 fighting, testing fire resistence of materials, or testing fire protection equipment, <br /> 4 provided prior written approval has been issued by the Control Officer of the Puget <br /> 5 Sound Air Pollution Control Agency and the Everett Fire Chief or his authorized <br /> 6 representative. <br /> 7 Section 5: LAND CLEARING BURNING. <br /> 8 Outdoor burning for the purpose of clearing land shall be permitted only if all of <br /> 9 the following conditions are met: <br /> 10 A. Prior written approval has been issued by the Control Officer of the Puget <br /> 11 Sound Air Pollution Control Agency, and <br /> 12 B. All other rules, regulations and requirements set forth in Regulation I of <br /> 13 the Puget Sound Air Pollution Control Agency are met, and <br /> 14 C. The fire is not within 100 feet of any structure other than that located on <br /> 15 the property on which the burning is conducted, and <br /> 16 D. The average population density as defined by the United States Bureau of <br /> 17 the Census within 0.6 miles of the proposed burning site is 2,500 persons per square mile <br /> 18 or less, and <br /> 19 E. No certified alternative is available as set forth in Section 8.07 of <br /> 20 Regulation I of the Puget Sound Air Pollution Control Agency, and <br /> 21 F. An adult is available to supervise the fire at all times, and <br /> 22 G. The fire shall be maintained within two hundred (200) feet of an adequate <br /> 23 source of water connected to a hose with nozzle under pressure sufficient to project a <br /> 24 stream of water that will reach every area within ten (10) feet of such fire. If, in the <br /> 25 case of land clearing, the area to be cleared is so large that adequate water is not <br /> 26 within two hundred (200) feet, burning shall be allowed provided a bulldozer operator <br /> 27 and a bulldozer are kept within two hundred (200) feet of the fire, and <br /> 28 H. Only materials on the site where permission has been approved by the <br /> 29 Controller of the Puget Sound Air Pollution Control Agency and City of Everett may be <br /> 30 burned. No materials may be hauled to a site where land clearing burning has been <br /> 31 approved from a site where such approval has not been granted. <br /> 32 <br />
