1 The City Clerk may revoke any license issued under authority of this chapter 2 upon proof that a driver has violated this section. Such revocation shall be in addition 3 to any other penalty herein provided. 4 Section 25: LOADING AND DISCHARGING PASSENGERS. Drivers of 5 for-hire vehicles shall not receive or discharge passengers in the roadway, but shall pull 6 up to the right-hand sidewalk as nearly as possible or in the absence of a sidewalk, to 7 the extreme right-hand side of the road and there receive or discharge passengers, 8 except upon one-way streets where passengers may be discharged at either the right or 9 left-hand sidewalk, or the side of the roadway in the absence of a sidewalk. 10 Section 26: SERVICE REQUIREMENTS. All persons engaged in the vehicle 11 for hire business in the City operating under the provisions of this chapter shall render 12 an overall service to the public desiring to use their specified vehicle for hire be it a 13 taxicab or limousine as the case may be. Holder of licenses shall maintain a place of 14 business and keep the same open for twenty-four hours a day for the purpose of 15 receiving calls and dispatching vehicles. They shall answer all calls received by them 16 for services inside the corporate limits of the City as soon as they can do so and if said 17 services cannot be rendered within a reasonable time, they shall then notify the 18 prospective passengers how long it will be before the said call can be answered and give 19 the reason therefor. 20 Section 27: TAXICAB STANDS. The City Council may by resolution or 21 ordinance upon the recommendation of the City's Traffic Engineer establish taxicab 22 stands within the City. The areas so established by the City Council as taxicab stands 23 shall be identified, and the hours and times said areas may be occupied by for-hire 24 vehicles shall be specified in the ordinance or resolution establishing such areas. 25 The fee for the right to use said taxicab stands shall be charged in accordance 26 with Section 7 of this ordinance. 27 Section 28: PARKING. It shall be unlawful to park or leave any for-hire 28 vehicle on any public street within the City, except at a stand or parking area 29 designated or approved for the use of for-hire vehicles.
